  1. Bashing
Well I got tired of looking at the stock boxes on my revo 2.5 after puting the teko ones on my 3.3 racer I knew it wasent going to last. I wanted to eleminate them but keep the price down using cheap parts and scrap material. My dad recently came home from work with some 8"x3' pices of dimond plate aluminum and other littler scrap pices. I wanted to make some custome parts for my trucks with them and decide that I would give my 2.5 basher a new look. So after doing a little research I think I have come up with a game plan. I am goin to cut the stock throttle box down to the tekno one. Then I bought a RPM rc10gt reciver box and did some seriouse grinding to the insided to make the stock reciver somewhat fit. I'm goin to attemp to make the aluminum brace to support the box right now and will post pics later of that. Heres what I have come up with so far. You can see by the pic how much was taken out of the reciver box to fit the stock reciver.

Well I havent done anything elses since friday night because I went dirt bike riding yesterday but I may finish her up today. It looks really cool, but the time that it is taking me to design everything is killing be lol. I got so sick of using a drillmal I broke out the angled dye grinder and that is makeing things go by alot quicker now though. Well here are a few more pics. All that is left is instal the rpm box. But I may make another aluminum pice, without all the scratches in it form the vice teeth, and one hole is drilled off so its kinda out of alighment. There is also a pic of the cut throttle box, this one i left a tab for the stock return spring. Here they are.

O ya and it turns out that there is more than one use for coat hangers. LOL.

Cool...you have to love the McGiver approach. I use it myself on my basher...

Mod On!!

Well I finished up with the box mount up. I drilled the holes wrong on the first bracket and had to fab a new one really quick but it looks better than the first one lol. So it took some serrious effort to get the big ass traxxas reciver in that lil box, and still dosent fit right. But hopefully next week that will change, I see a dx3 in my near future, for graduation. There is a real little gap around the edges where there is no screw but it looks good. I polised the brace with some mothers and it shines like chrome. Tomarrow I'm going to start work on a battery mount like Z400's. Here are some compled pics.

Well finished it up late last night. When i get home from school I'm going to run it for a little to see how it handles and get the motor tuned up again. All in all, this was a pretty complex build, lot of trial and error. Id say that anyone with som know how could build one like it. I'm just glad i got it done before saterday, big bash with me and my friends so it will be fun. Here are the pics. The one of the mount dosent do it justice, its like chrome i polished it so good lol.

Holy cow! I just ran my first tank with this setup and what a difference. It cut my wheelies down which gave me more control(NICE). And it certinally lightend things up a bit, I jumped longer and straghter every time. I love this rig. I can't wait to get my spectrum in there then I'm set.

Well today I went out and bashed a bottle and farted around at the local highschool and contributed to my farmers tan lol. It was fun, noting broke for once. It was shure nice. All my work paid off and it all held up. I made a pretty nice little jump and just messed around. I need a new body now though, mine is pretty much trash, the hole back end riped off, and I'm tired of babying this one. I'm going to go to the hobby shop later and see if I can get the proline one that all you have to do is spray a base color on and its done. I'm due though it was the stocker and is over a year old. Well thanks for lookin!

When you paint that lid, don't forget to put a backing coat on after painting your main color (usually black or white) and also a fuel-proof coating last. It will hold up better that way.

Actually when ever i get some more cash I'm goin to buy one of those spary you base coat bodies from proline. I like the look of them and the price is right. This truck is holding up suprisingly well. I bashed the crap out of it over the past week or so. I striped the stock servos and bought some new hitec, i forgot which but it works bitchen. Today I hit a curb when I mised the ramp and thought for shure that I broke the front end but nothing. I hit it as the car hit second, thats pretty damn fast on a 3.3. I polished the stock pipe with a drimal(spelling) and drilled the stinger. What a power difference, its the same look and power of the resignator now. Pluse it looks pretty lol. The single servo mod really lightened her up alot and I'm debating on runing the battery where the 2nd servo would have been and ditching the mount. Anyway I think I have myself a verry sturdy basher now and am willing to put it against a savage lol, well maby not that tough, but I can't get it to break yet. Here is a completed pic. I need to pick up some new tires the stockers for street runs arnt cuting it anymore.

I kind of guessed that but you still want to use the stuff I talked about earlier to protect the lid from nitro, which will eat through the paint and then attack the shell.
