there's new shipping boxes from usps they are flat rate $7.70 up to 70lbs any U.S destination, however it is a sort of small box but will be a great asset for mail order companys that ship heavy small items here is a link for more info.:

losing customers eh? sadly to say I'm one of 'em... had too many probs with usps in far too little attemps. no offense 17. I use to prefer usps cuz they are soo much faster than the parcel services but I've had a few problems with 'em.. probably just my particular branch though. wouldn't want to assume that the whole system sucks just cuz we might have a few morons over here.

I ship from 50-150 packages a day.
We use the USPS for anything under 1lb Priority mail 3.85 including a free box tracking and insurance. First class for anything we don't mind loosing and replacing at our own expense. $.35-$2.50. We also use USPS priority mail for anything west of the Mississippi river that needs to get there in 4 days or less. UPS take 7 days coast to coast. Over the years we have had better luck with the USPS not loosing packages. I have to say they do a good job. When people say it must have got lost in the mail, chances are good it never got sent.

Anything over 1 lb we send UPS. Its all about the price, speed, and insurance.

Shipping is one of my largest monthly expenses. Every penny I can save is big $$$.
3000 packages in a month and I can save .10 on each one. Woooo hooooo. Thats pure profit.
