hey everyone, i have a T Maxx 2.5 and I've been running the stock engine for about 3 yeas now. i want a more powerful engine but i dont know much about the different engine brands outside of traxxas. i just want more power for my maxx and i dont wanna spend too much on it, i dont have a job so i have to get someone to buy it for me. gimme your suggestions =] also, will i be able to use my sock maxx side pipe or will i need a new one? any recommendations on a new pipe if i need a new one? i dont want somethin thats real loud, i drive in residential areas

On a T-Maxx i would strongly suggest not to put a bog block into it unless you have a lot of money to invest in it. I would stay with a higher small block. A TRX 3.3 will push your truck faster then you should care to run it and will do wheelies all day long. Now then if you want to move outside of traxxas, Losi has their 3.4 that i haven't heard much of but so fars seems okay, then there is the O.S. 18 TZ. Just some suggestions that will allow you to run all your current stuff like your pipes and such and won't be terribly loud.

ok, thanks everyone. how do i do a break in on these engines? is it the same as a traxxas engine break in? do i even need to break it in?

Hey Austin did you get a new Maxx engine yet? Those P2's are a great upgrade for the maxx, use the manufactures recommendations to break in your new engine, probably alittle less complicated then the Traxxas way. HOpe it runs good for you!

no, i did not get the engine yet. it will be awhile till i get the engine, i just wanted to have one in mind before i bought one. i will hopefully be getting the engine soon because i want to water proof my t maxx and use the current 2.5 engine as a winter engine and use the new engine for a summer/spring/fall engine. its already starting to get cold here so i really want it soon, i wanna be able to run it and break it in before winter comes

another thing, with the orion wasp engine will i need a different type of glow plug or can i use the traxxas glow plugs?
