new engine

I'm waiting on new gears to show up. Ever since I pit this engine in the damn spur gears are stripping out. Now I do know how to set the gear mesh so it's not that. Maybe I just got some bad gears as these are the first I've ever had strip out like this since I've had this truck. Since I'm the kind of guy that likes to fix a problem for good I went ahead and ordered the titanium nitride coated set of gears from Losi. These damn things are about 65 bucks so I hope they last a while!
Anyway, as soon as I get these installed I want to get some video of it and some pictures of it as well. So you just keep yer pants on there, Taz and be patient! I'll get to it!

yeah we want to know how it performs, I have had the 427, and LRP 28 in my LST2 and the LRP hauls ass but if the 30 has even more power then that will be my next engine. Give us a review if you will.

Thanks

My gears came in yesterday at the LHS and I'm gonna pick them up today and get 'er going again. Hopefully I'll have some video of it by the end of the weekend.

Here's what happened to the plastic set shortly after I put the new engine in.

And here's how I routed the fuel line.

I've got it running like a screaming whore now! The new gears are working great as well. The only thing that puzzles me is that the engine doesn't seem to have the kind of power I thought it would on the take off. It does good but I was hoping for flip over backwards crazy torqe. If I lean out the low speed just a little more it does better but then it does the high rev thing for a few seconds after a high speed run like it's starving for fuel. So I backed it back off to keep it from doing that. Maybe I need to adjust my clutch as it's one of those adjustable ones from Wreks. Humm, I'll keep messing with it and get back with you guys.
