i would think a new traxxas 3.3 or the os .18cvr ....anymore is pointless in a 2 wheel drive stadium truck imo

OS 18 CV-R....plenty of power but not too much to eat your tranny gears.

2.5R is also a great motor and should be more than enough, I have a 2.5 rustler and with the 2.5 it is awsome, the 3.3 is probably even a great motor just haven't got my hands on one yet.
Not taking nothing away from the OS

I have a used Fantom .18..they were made for the maxxbutit comes w/ the mount too...I'll sell it cheap if you just want a bigger engine to try....PM if your interested....screaming top end on this thing and a good bottom that doesn't just spin your wheels....

This sounds like a heck of an ofer for ya Rusty, I did forget to mention and am surprised no one else did that you can also do the trade up engine swap through Traxxas, it saves you a few bucks and no matter what you did to your old motor they will take it in trade>>>> Check into it for kicks...and maybe get the Fantom from plaid, with a $300 limit I'm guessing you'll have the money to do it.

hell he could get an RB .23 for way less, but I think it would just spin the tires till the treads flew off.....300 is WAY too much motor for a traxxas ST.....they're so friggin light you would have serious traction issues.....or see RC10gt for a custom .21 mount...LOL...put some wings on it and go to the airfield instead of the track....
