I got a new 3.3 engine to replace the worn out 3.3, which had no compression after sitting for a couple years. I have new fuel, glow plug is good, glow ignitor is good, engine is new...but won't start. Using pull start; a couple times it sounded like it started but only stays on for about a second.

Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks

Make sure your at factory settings, heat up the engine with a hair dryer and crack the glow plug loose until it starts. Just be sure and tighten the plug back up asap. If the truck sat for a couple of years, the tank cap seal might be shot. Make sure the fuel system is air tight.

At what point do I crack the glow plug? Not sure if I'm doing it correct. Still getting the same stuff here...I checked the fuel system. Pretty sure it's air tight.

Ok, I got it figured out. There was a fuel leak after all. It's running now. Thanks for the help!
