Whats up guys, i have an old t maxx .15 that I'm getting sick of messing with. i want something crazy fast with little maintenance and keep the ez start. any suggestions? what exactly will i need to get
 
How much are you looking to spend on it? You still have the older rotory style carb or is it the 2.5 slide carb?
 
I'm pretty sure its the older one. I'm just trying to figure out if i should just buy the new 3.3 t maxx and part this one out
 
Well if it is the old school and you don't want to do the 2.5 conversion you would have to use an engine with a rotory style carb. I know HobbyPeople.net is currently having a sale on engines and have the XTM .18 for $59 but it is a rear exhaust. HPI makes a rotory carb that is side exhaust but you would have to go roto start instead of easy start. Anyway you go it is going to be some modding basically. If you are looking at a 3.3 Maxx why not just go Savage. They do drink a bit more gas but they are way tougher.
 
honestly i just want something that throws a nasty roost . this .15 isnt doing it for me. i need more of a punch.
 
The only way to really get more out of it would be to do the 2.5 conversion and put in a bigger engine such as a good .18 or one of the made for T-Maxx mid block engines like the Picco Maxx .26/JL Red Dot, RB TM523, OS .21TM, Sirio .27Max. The LRP .28 that was suggested would only work if you did a big block chassis conversion and would sherd the entire drive line before you could even get it broken in. As your Maxx sits right now it will be hard to get a ton more out of it with out dropping some coin.
 
If you want to stick with the Traxxas engine they have an engine exchange program. Take the old engine to the LHS and get a new 2.5 or 3.3 for half price. You have to trade your old engine in. I just did this on my Rustler. It had the.15 and I was spending more time tuning than I was driving. It runs great now with the new 2.5.
