Hi all, I just purchased a new O.S. 21XZ-B V-Spec engine for my buggy, and was wanting to know what prep work I should do to the engine before starting it up. I've heard some people say dissassemble and oil all the parts.....seal the carb...etc..... Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jon

the ONLY thing i did to mine was put some marvel mystery oil in the carb, and turn the crank over. note: mmo is NOT to be lube in the fuel. i break mine in different than most. i just let it idle for 3-4 hours. now i know ill get flamed for saying that, so if you are tempted to do so remember remember ill NOT read it. iam old and dont need any kids flameing me, so just dont.

Even though OS makes a quality product I would look at sealing the entire engine and not just the carb. Your tuning skills will thank you for it later when you start to go for the performance tune. Outside of that OS is pretty good for using quite a bit of lube during assembly and the gas will lube it as well so IMO I wouldnt worry about that.

I dont think your a flamer Moe!! Everyone has a personal preference on break in that somebody isnt gonna like so screw them for tryin to flame you!! As long as your steps get you a good reliable engine who cares??:D
