New Engine Fitted

Got the new engine in now. what do you guys thinks best 2 or 3 speed gearbox? and is there and difference in apperance to identify a 2 speed form a 3 speed? Few pics of the savage attached and a few more HERE

You can not tell a two speed from a three speed from the outside. You have to crack the trans open to tell the difference. I would suggest getting the newer X model easy access case. You remove three screws from the top and have access to the drive gears and second and third gears. You can identify this case by the three holes in the side as opposed to the two holes of the older model.

Hope I answered that right.

If you do get the three speed make sure to order the newer High Speed third gear.

i have two gearboxes here one has 3 plugged holes in the side and the other has 2 plugged holes in the side and i know ones a 3 speed and ones 2 speed but i didnt know which was which. Thanks

Nice looking truck man!! I got the assembled 3speed transmission and got 2 plug holes.

I did not know Ofna made that size engine! I think you'll be much happier with it. Ofnas usually tune good and perform very well too. I don't know the answer to your tranny question other than the older cases had 2 inspection holes.
