hey there. so my partner just bought a 2nd hand revo and I've been helping him get it up and running...discovered I've really enjoyed the mechanical side of it and actually am pretty good at it... so hes given me his old t maxx as a project car for myself... still get to thrash n bash with the revo but the t maxx will be mine... needs new parts to get it up and running... any ideas as a good.. reputable place to get parts etc from for the 2.5 t maxx?? thanks.. T maxx Trace!

cheers

Thanks matt, thought id give ebay a try... heaps of stuff if your in the us... not so much in oz.... massive postage to get it sent from over there too... ends up being cheaper to get my local hobby shop to get it in for me....also wondering... whats stopping me from putting a 3.3 on the t maxx?? instead of getting another 2.5?? thanks for your help again!:)

Slight adjustment to your slipper. Maybe some aluminum upgrades, diffs, should be good to go. You can just drop the 3.3 In your 2.5, but parts will break eventually. I did the traxxas engine swap for another 2.5r, broke it in the other day and this thing rips. Good luck!!!!!!:)

3.3 diffs, Traxxas cvd's and a proper slipper adjustment will handle the 3.3 pretty well. 4908 Maxx rear center shafts will fit both the front and the back of a 2.5 Maxx. They're plenty strong to hold up to a 3.3 and are quite cheap. If you have reverse, you'll want to do a forward only conversion. Makes for a much smoother, better accelerating vehicle. Not to mention the tranny is way stronger with all the reverse garbage removed.

project t maxx

It might sound strange but i really enjoy this... i had barely even picked up a remote control car before last week and now here i am planning to completely pull apart and rebuild one!!! I'm probably not even going to be able to drive the thing! haha but atleast if i can fix it ill be able to repair it through endless fender benders. lol... I'm going to start a new thread... called project tmaxx... and record my progress and what I'm dpoing on it and I'm going to need heaps of helpp... and some laymans terms too... lol... would love it if you guys would follow my progress and help me out where possible... Tracey xx
