This new prototype is named the Jammin X-1 CR. The first race in competition was April 6-8th at the Silver State Championships in Las Vegas, NV. Driven by Adam Drake qualifying 4th and finishing 7th of 130 racers. While challenging with the eventual winner for the lead early in the main event , a throttle servo meltdown dropped the X-1 CR out. The car is in it's infancy of development and time table for release is targeted for the end of 2003. We will keep you updated here. Please don't ask anything else. We cannot tell you!!!

Update - 5/10/2003 The Dirt in Hemet, Ca. - The Jammin X-1 CR TQ's both rounds at the So.Cal. Saturday Series. Factory Test Pilot, Adam Drake, entered the X-1 CR in it's second race of competition at the elite gas racing series in the country. With some of the top racers on hand, Adam scored the pole position for the start of the A-main. Leading most of the main, a mistake at the finish line cost him the overall win by inches. "Although we are not out to win races at this stage of development, it's gratifying to know that the car is capable of it." says Jammin Jay Halsey. "We ran the same exact set-up we used in Vegas. It's amazing that the car was so good since the tracks are totally opposite. That's probably what cost Adam the win, since altering the set-up would have made the car much faster. The last minute decision to race the car is why the set-up wasn't changed, but we aren't disappointed since we now know that the car can be competitive anywhere."

Is that supposed to be the new 9.5 Violator? I've seen an advertisment for a new Ofna buggy in RCCA, but it's just a silouhette (sp?).

The reason I was asking this is because Drake is supposed to be driving for Ofna.

They do sell Ofna hop-ups on Jammin so maybe there is some affliation. I do know that Jammin Jay designed the buggy though.

Ofna and Jammin' go together like green on grass. They are definently partners of some kind. Jammin' always does custom 9.5's and whatnot.

But on another note, i noticed that the radio tray went all they way to the back of the buggy reinforcing the stiffness of the chassis. I however didn't notice a rear torque rod. So is that the purpose of the radio tray? Also, i guess you have noticed the new laydown servo is going to be a very common thing in 8th buggies to come.

L8r,
Garrett
