ok so just picked up a tmaxx 2.5R and its all stock. its starts up fine.. with no problem but when i give it gas it wants to take off but it barley even moves.. as if it didnt have any power but you can hear the motor trying to push it it just dosent go. i was thinking its the spur gear but not too sure any ideas, and one more thing its an ez start and the started in that went out. to switch over to a pull start would i have to mess with anything at all..due to the pull start would be behind the motor and not on the side thanks

Well I'm not the most experienced but from what I've read you need to tighten the slipper clutch.

Ok thanks. And it's a push button start and when I try to. Start it it just makes nose but the engine Dosent turn over you just hear the starting winding any thoughts

if the ez start spins and the motor does not turn then i would have to say the one way bearing needs to be cleaned or replaced

If you had the ez start off and pull start on at one time and then put ez start back on maybe you put the one way bearing on backwards. That would cause the starter to just spin freely on shaft and not turn over engine as well. Makesure the bearing is installed right. As far as reving and not moving it is more than likely your slipper clutch located on your spur gear. Tighten the 8mm nut on the slipper but not too tight as to damage the tension spring in front of it.

well the ez start was on it and then it started to just turn but not turn the motor, and i also just like pull start alot better as it is anyways..

Me too i prefer pull start but mine just broke the other day and till i get another I'm stuck using ez start.

You owb is probly gummed up or worn. Just take it off and clean it really good with wd40 and try it again.

some times a cause for ez start issues is a flooded engine. To solve this problem, remove your plug and air filter. Block the fuel line and connect your starter. then flip the truck over and hit the starter for five seconds. Any excess fuel in the carc or cylinder will be spit out. Reinstall your plug and filter, open the fuel line and see what happens. good luck.

ok ,, so ,, what was the new truck ,can't tell us you got a different one and not say
what it is .

I hate a tease
