I have spent the last hour reading about buggies. I have a T-maxx, RC10 GT and RC 10T3. I am think of a 1\8 scale buggy to add to my collection. I have the JR XS3 radio so I don't really want an RTR. I was looking at the violater but heard it was not to accepted in racing. I don't race much but I would like to be able to if given the chance. I would like a good race ready buggy that I can add a reciever and servos to, say about 500 bucks. What do you guys suggest?
thanks

WHat he said. YOur not gonna do better(unless you buy used of course) for your pricerange then an OFNA Buggy. THey also have a wide array of after market avaliable on a broad scale. Even the crappiest LHS's around here carrry OFNA Buggy parts. Mugen is great for the money IME but your gonna spend allot more then $500 on a new Mugen Buggy.

I got to drive the OFNA 9.5 "Vilolator" for a couple days recently and DAMN. That thing is allot of buggy for $400 or less.

Got the Violator

I agree with Nitroboy, for 400 bucks, this is a lot of buggy, the extra wide stance makes turning and handling great. The engine is easy to start and its fast. If you want to race, the kit comes with the parts to make it race legal. Only thing is its a RTR.

Also I beleive the Violator is a .25 or .26 engine. Most racing rules state you can't have any bigger then a .21 engine.

Toothpic....not hardly....lol. It's no MBX-5 but it seemed to be plenty durable.

itsmesag has one(violator) and he bashed the hell out of it and was rebuilding the front end every weekend. We did a PBS swap over on it and all is good now.

IMO If You Plan On Racing Get A Buggy That Is Approved For Racing,The Violator Is To Wide And Has A Larger Engine So You Would Have To Modify To Go Racing, IMO Spend A Little More And Get What You Want To Go Racing The MBX Pro Or The PCR Or PBS Are Xlent Choices You can't Go Wrong With Anyone Of Those Buggies. Good Luck!

I have decided on the Hyper 7 PCR RTR!! seems like the best buggy for the money. Some what race ready anyway.

Lots of great kits out there. I would pick up a k2 or MBX-5 if I were you. Those seems to be the 2 hottest rigs on the track but it can be debated. You won't go wrong with the PCR I would just examine all options.

If your going to race and lazy, go PCR RTR, if you have the money and are not lazy go Kanai, if your lazy and have no money dont play with a 1/8 buggy

What about the Mayhem pro ARR? Anyone seen it in action? Good buggy?

i do belive the Mayhem pro is a new ride that is unproven.not enough inf on it.
like alot of peps have said you can't go wrong by buying the ofna pcr or the pbs.. for the money..you will get a race ready buggy..and if its just bashing you want to do the duribitly is there for you..

I know the Hyper is a good choice but I like the idea of the ARR of the Mayhem Pro. That way I can choose my electronics and use my JR XS3. With the RTR I have the cheap radio to stick on the shelf. I know I could get the Hyper Pro but that gets expensive and I don't really have the time to build the buggy from scratch.
