hey boys, i just got my new axial in today and i was going to throw it on the savage and start the break in. Axial ships the carburetor with the slide on the right side so i needed to loosen the bolt and turn it around, and when i went to turn it around, it wouldn't budge. I had the bolt all the way out and i even put the hair dryer on it for a few minutes and it wouldn't move. I can wiggle it a TINY bit, but even when i try to shimmy it out of there it doesn't move. just wiggle a tiny bit. thoughts? i was gonna spray a little wd-40 around the lip of it but decided not to for the time being.

It should come out with what you've already done.
Have you been able to remove the two lock pins?
If not, try that.
You can use the retaining screw to remove the half pin with the threads by either pushing or pulling it (depending which direction you attack it from) and the other 1/2 should come out the other direction.
With the lock pins out, the only thing holding the carb in place would be the o ring.
Using WD 40 or penetrating oil wouldn't hurt either.

yea i haven't tried that yet. i didn't know that those came out. i guess that's why i haven't been able to get the carb off of the 4.6 neither....lol thanks for the help buddy. i'll try to take it out within the next day or two. i'll let u know if i can't get it

thanks TGL! I got the lock pins out and it slid right out. I never knew the lock pins could come out. I've never had to mess with the carbs on a big block. the trx 3.3 didn't have lockin pins. Thanks a lot BRO!!!! YAY i learned something new today!!! :)
