This is a new Trinity Double Down motor that I only used for testing purposes. It was never soldered on or installed in a vehicle. It is tuned for maximum performance. Tuning consists of adjusting the timing to the "Sweet spot" and shimming the rotor for minimal rotor slop. This is an extremely fast and powerful motor.

The rotor is the TEP1152 modified high torque rotor, from Trinity.

$130 for both the motor and the extra rotor.

This includes shipping to any of the upper 48 USA states.

This is a bonkers deal!
I need a motor for a 1/10 4x4. I thought 13.5 is best for the job but I am droolimg right now!!! 😲
This is an outlaw motor which has a lot more torque than a standard motor, so it allows you to add a few more teeth to the pinion gear. What would you be using it for? Will you be racing with it? I paid about $160 for both, plus I tuned them, which I normally charge $20 to do.

Optima Mid 4x4 1/10 scale buggy.
23/84, 2.64 trans, 78 mm tire height, 2s.
Carpet track indoor. Haven't run it yet so I'm shooting in the dark sort of.
This motor might be perfect even in my 2wd buggys tho.
I bet it would be terrifying in the Mid tho.

Do you run a 17.5 motor right now? If so, what brand?

Its not on the track yet. Its 38 years old... don't rush!!! 🙄🤣
Its a car I've just built (almost) desitin for carpet track racing.
The track moved since I started building and I haven't been to the new track yet. There are some mysteries.
I was planning a 17.5 HW stock motor to try because I have one and because a racer at the track told me he runs a 21.5 in his Associated B6.3 with 21.5.
It slowed him down a bit and made him more consistent. 👍
I'm tossing around eliminating the slipper for now. The 17.5 would be good for that too. Not ripping teeth off my belt and such! 🤣

My plan was all going fine until you posted this and made me think!!! 🤣

Have you upgraded the gears in your gearbox? If not, I wouldn't run a 13.5. Also, for carpet, you might want to keep the slipper. That will help prevent the belt and/or gears getting stripped. With the extra torque, the Double Down would be a great motor to run. It's fast and will not overheat with all the on and off acceleration. If you wish to go slower, you can lower the timing or use a smaller pinion.

I have upgraded the gears. All the ratio work nicely together. The car is a bit heavy but otherwise should absolutely fly!
The stock slipper isn't really a slipper in the old optima mid. Its more like a shock protect than slipper. Very basic at best. I'm worried about that with a 13.5.
The rerelease has a nice slipper set up. Its not plug and play tho.
This is the old Mid and has the nice deep teeth profile in the belt. It will take some real effort or a jam to strip the belt so thats a big help on carpet.
I agree, this motor would be nice.
If I had this car on the track already, all my theory proven correct, I believe I'd already own this deal!

On a carpet track, you would want a slipper with a 13.5. It would definitely put your belt and gears to the test.
