Most movies that are remastered refuse to show trivial scenes with the towers. Proves so many are trying to forget. I remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard.

It's a tribute to World Trade Center tower 1 and 2 falling. The tribute is called "Tribute in Light" and the lights were setup at the site. One of RCTalk's very own member (@RatzoRC) actually helped setup them up for a couple years.

Now they still light up the spot lights but they are done so a few blocks away.
 
I watched those towers being built and I've been to the top of both of them about half a dozen times. It still isn't normal that they aren't there.
The lights represent both the towers but not in the same location since the new Freedom Tower is on the original site.
