Yes, while your at it get the foc kit so you can get rid of that optihive

And so begins the addiction..LOL

Lol I just bought a bunch of stuff.

The truck has "OptiDrive" now and this stuff might as well all be in Japanese to me. Thanks again for all the help and input.

Unless you absolutely must have reverse, you're better off eliminating
the OptiDrive reverse feature all together with a forward only kit
(which is also very inexpensive).
Less rotational mass and weight, less electronics to malfunction.

Reverse won't work with the 6519? I don't HAVE to have it but it is kind of nice. Lol.

Yes reverse is nice but it will just cause issues in the future. Plus it is a good performance upgrade also as it removes rotating mass from your transmission making the RPM's build faster and easier. You could have run the Integy axle carriers they hold up pretty well. I have been beating on a set for two years with no problems with bending. If you upgrade to the RPM true tracks your going to need the revo drive cups for the cvd's. The true tracks are hard to keep your axles from coming out of the drive cups with the stock maxx drive cups because there a smidge shorter than the revo's! Oh yah sounds like your already addicted bro!

It really boils down to your priorities. Do you prefer improved overall performance
or the ability to drive backwards occasionally?

Sure, you can have both but not without compromise in performance. :\

Ok I'm trying to upgrade the TRA2215 27mhz to the TRA6519 2.4ghz receiver and I have some questions:

1. Leave OptiDrive plugged in?
2. On the 27mhz receiver from top to bottom the channels are:

B
1
2
3

On the 2.4 ghz receiver the channels from top to bottom are:

CH3
CH2
CH1
CH1 (again)

Plugging 1 into 1, 2 into 2, and so on makes sense but does the B go into the 2nd CH1 or am I all wrong all together?

The first ch1 should be the bat
After just plug and play to get your channels right, you will need to bind the rx/tx via the bind button

So the 3rd one down is the batt?

I've never used that opti drive, I've been removing reverse eversince the old days of the ue super six,the optidrive is just an electronic fail safe to keep from engaging reverse while in forward motion

Thanks a bunch man. I'm learning a ton every time I get on this forum. I just wish I knew why chrome is telling me it's loaded with malware?

Thats what this place is here for man to help and get help, with the occasional b@!!bust now and then:beer:.....maybe send woodie a pm asking about the malware or post it in the free for all

Hey! I have more questions! When I got this thing the suspension was way saggy. I ditched the aluminum a arms and shock towers and all that to save some weight. The aluminum parts left on it are the chassis braces, bulk heads, and diff skid plates. Am I still gonna be way heavier than stock? And should I replace the springs or the whole shocks or did I already save enough weight?

Lol I need to learn more!

With A proper suspension setup the maxx should sag some otherwise it would be too stiff to allow proper articulation, also a suspension should be set to the terrain,....check out the suspension setup stickies in this forum, we could talk all night about suspension

Hotrods right theres so many shock setups you can go with it's insane. If it's a basher I usually run 50wt in all eight shocks with stock red springs. I tend to air my basher rigs out pretty good and I like this setup best! Unless you have heavy aluminum upgrades than I would go with a progressive spring rate springs on 4 of the eight shocks.

It only has aluminum bulk heads, chassis braces, and skid plates. That's not too much over stock weight is it?
