Hey fellas.. I have a Savvy, with the complete Truckzilla kit. I am looking to get new tires and wheels. (preferably already mounted, as I'm not too eager to jump into the whole gluing tires thing just yet) Anyway.. I'm ready to downsize the tires a bit, to try and get some more performance out of it. The giant tires look cool, but weigh a ton and seem very weak where it mounts up with the hex. This truck is loaded with aluminum parts and the RC Solutions roll cage, so it's quite heavy. (15.6lbs with tires on) I want a good all around tire, with plenty of meat for bashing through grass, dirt, and maybe an occasional rip up and down the street. Please.. if possible I would like them already mounted on some reasonably cool looking wheels. I'm also looking into a new steering servo.. Was really leaning towards the Ace R/C DS1015 from Thunder Tiger. any input on this servo would be welcomed too

Thanks a bunch!

Might want to post in the WTB forum. Probably have a better chance of finding some tires. I have these for sale HERE

I'm not really looking to buy used tires, I'm just looking for suggestions

Buy the HPI 17 mm hexes and axles off E-Bay from a Savage X model. Also the Stock Savage X tires are good for bashing but the wheels are not the strongest out there. Your truck is pretty heavy. RPM makes a top notch wheel.
For the length of your truck you need to go ahead and switch 1/2" offset wheels, it will drastically improve the stability. The stock Savage X wheels are zero offset, another reason I do not like them.
Glueing tires is no big deal, any monkey can do it.
The Ace servo is a good choice. It's stronger than they rate it for sure.
Another route you could go would be to find a set of 40 series Proline Mashers, they are a good all around tire design that is not heavy. You'll need 40 series wheels, preferably Proline Wabash or dish wheels with a 17mm hex. The standard 14 mm hex is not going to cut it with the weight of your truck.
