This is the ORIGINAL T-Maxx......
It has a .15 Pro engine.

This is the first model that traxxas ever came out with.

But good news, in a couple years it will be a classic car!!!
JK have fun with it.

so for 80$ its not bad? lol

were do i put betteries or something to get power to the car?
i get the rest of the parts in a few days I'm just lost casue i only see one plug which if so the starter and no other plugs ahaha

Yep, that's an original Pro .15 Maxx. The battery box is the one with the on off switch on it. Take the two screws out of the top of that box and there will be an AA battery holder in there. Unless there is a rechargable hump pack, which I doubt if you don't see an extra lead coming out of that box with a plug for charging.

Not bad at all for $80

alright thank you cani get some like.. speed figuers 2 speed tranny? lota power no power fast truck slow truck? lol

the controle/ remost is also confusing the hell out of me were your thumb would go theres a switch that i can flick? its a top qualifier 3 if that helps at all?

i need to know what these 2 things on the contoler do befor i mess it up ahaha
edit: not the trim knob the "switch"

The switch is for reverse, but good luck with that, reverse in a maxx is touchy at best. You must be at a dead stop to switch it to reverse or back to drive, even then it can be a pain to get it in gear.

Then the best thing you can do is a forward only conversion. For under $15 it will give you much better acceleration, you can remove the reverse servo, and a bunch of un-needed stuff from the tranny. IMO it is one of the best low dollar mods you can do to a T Maxx.

how can i do this?

link?
or can i do it myself with no extra parts?
i just wanna get it driving right now it hasnt been ran in a while i was told and it has only been ran 8 times he said so well see how it is

I would tend to believe him, it does not look beat up, actually it looks almost new, from your pics it appears to be in great shape, especially for as old as it is.

Heres a link to what you will need to do the foc. It is not that difficult, but you will have to pull the tranny out. It comes with instructions on which parts to remove from the tranny.

Ya it is a traxxas t-maxx .15, and you put the batteries in that little black rectangle box to the left of the gas tank, it jus takes four AA batteries.

i found out were the batteris go in the truck now i just need to get the starter for him and try it out haha hasnt been run in a few years sooo see how she goes!

the pro .15 is like the honda civic the 2.5 is more like a s2000 and then when you get to the 3.3 its a nsx. The .15 will be good for you seeing as how you are a new nitro driver its reliable and easy to maintain but it does leave a little to be desired in the performance department

alright I'm gettin teh stuff to fire it up tonight so ill try it out see how it goes thanks for the help any other into on it?

I'm trying to fire this thing up....what size battery does it take? i tried a 7.2 volt battery but it didnt engauge the starter? maybe a 12 volt will? its a little motor that spins the crank it looks like and theres only 2 wires to the starter and I've tried it a few differnt ways and nothing will engauge the starter it only spins without catching....not spinning fast enough I'm assuming?

It does use a 7.2, if it is turning the motor for the easy start over my guess is your one way bearing needs to be cleaned and lubed. For this you will have to pull the engine out, remove the screws that hold the easy start assembly to the block. Inside you will find a one way bearing that looks like a hex. Pull this off the shaft and soak it in denatured alcohol, then lube it up with some 3 in 1 oil and put it back in. Reattach the easy start assembly, remount the engine making sure to get the gear mesh with the clutch bell and spur gear correct, or you will be asking how to replace the spur next.

it spins over but... it sounds like theres no gear hitting the other gear to turn it over the plug is a 4 prong plug and i was only using 2 of them theres a yellow wire i think that goes to te engine and a blue one that doesn't do anything at all its just hanging there
i was only using the 2 for the engine would te yellow one have anything to do with it?

just looked at it itlooks like it would have a belt from the little electric engine that spins the crank?

update...!!!

i tried spinning the engine over by the flywheel and... its locked up... o welll he can have the truck back seeing as how i didnt pay for it yet haha

the blue wire goes to the glow plug the yellow one should be mounted to the motor mount there should also be a red and black wire running to the ez start
