It would be absolutely silly to start that engine after blasting dirt onto the carb. With the air filter off. I guarantee you didn't get all the dirt out of the carb. It's your truck, and I can't see it from my house, but popping the engine apart for a cleaning and seal job only takes an hour. Hour and a half the first time you do it.;)

Taking yours guys advice! Found a good tech article on the 4.1 disassemble....We'll see how it goes! Hopefully there won't be any parts left over on the re-assemble! hehe

Naw they are pretty easy to pull apart. I had an air filter come off from a hard roof landing and I ran it and brough it in for fuel and it would not restart. I pulled the body off to find the carb was FILLED with dirt and grass. I pulled the engine apart and there was grass IN the chamber and in the glowplug itself. I have never seen so much dirt in and engine. I managed to get it to run again but I guess it was only luck there.

I'm not a fan of that throttle linkage setup. The geometry is naturally creating an overly progressive throttle curve that is very retarded at the low end. I would flip the servo arm 180 degrees and attach the throttle linkage to the short arm and leave the brake linkage in its respective position. You may have to reverse your channel and adjust your brake settings.

Alpine, it was a horror show when I pulled it apart. I was almost sickened....It was a good quality engine (Novarassi .21) that and luck is the only reason it survived.
I agree with Lessen on the linkage...I never looked at it before... wow that is really funky.

Is an air filter necessary? ..:p: Why did you not post that issue on when everyone asked that question?? I think a picture of nitro engine full of grass would be the best answer! :hehe: Sounds like a mess...
