i recently just aquired a t maxx 2.5 nitro

theres been some upgrades to it dont know what all.. and plus many spare parts..

i am completely new to this never had one before and it came with no manuals.

the truck seems a little tuff to start but once running it seems to run fine its quick not slugish.. but at idle it wont stop like its idling too high????

and after a few minutes of run time it dies! and then its hard to restart if you can restart it at all unless you let it set for a lil bit.. any help would be great!!! i am totally lost here in this

Sounds like its too lean,....go to the engines section in this forum and read the stickies ,there is a ton of info there that u need to read up on!

Classic used worn piston and sleeve.

Hate to say it but most often a used engine is a crap shoot.
Never buy a used rc without considering/factoring a new engine may be needed, unless you know 1st hand how the engine was broken-in, maintained, tuned and ran before you purchased it.

Try a new plug, set the carb to factory settings and tune from there.
With the plug in, how much compression/pinch does it have when you rotate the flywheel past TDC?
