Guys,
As you know, I was the lucky winner of a new OS engine. I am dropping it in my Maxx, but have hit a wall in the process. The new OS engine has a slide carb whereas the TRX .15 was rotary. I'm a bit stumped. What could I use to fashion a bellcrank to link up the new slide carb? I looked at the post and bellcrank for the 2.5, but no one has them in stock. The only way I can get it is to pay $37 for the 2.5 conversion kit which has a bunch of stuff I don't need in it. So for those of you who converted your TRX .15 Maxxes to a slide carb, how did you do it?????

You could drill the chassis, make a post with a small "rotating" slide and go from there. That's the way the 2.5 is built. Just go with that idea, just modify it to work for you :)

Something I've learned from this hobby is making things work. :)

HB, that was my original idea. But if you look at the stock status, you'll see it says "Mid May". In Traxxas talk, that means I should get it by August. And there's no way in hell I'm going all summer without my Maxx.

I have pushrod, threaded rod and links for the linkage. I just need a good idea how to set up the bellcrank.

Hardcore Racing makes a nice bellcrank assembly too. I was going to get you a link but it seems as though their site is down at the moment.

call 707-725-7856 this is the # for Fortuna Hobbies and he has like 5 on the self. They do include the 2.5 pipe because it is the full conversion kit but he will ship to you. Also www.JPHracing.com has the parts individually and they ALWAYS have everthing in stock and they will ship to you. You could really have this to you and installed by this Saturday to play with it.
