need help asap

i have a savage .25 that is fully broken in. i haven't been able to get it running latley. when ever i start it, it runs wot when the throttle is closed. then stalls a 3 seconds later. but last week i got it to idle but stalled because the glow plug was no good. i checked the glow plug to make sure it is the right one, and i also have the carb settings set to factory. does anyone no wat my problem is?

sounds like an air leak to me........did you seal the backplate & carb neck with rtv ? need to do that if you havent yet........then check the cooling head to make sure those bolts are all the same tightness......if it still does that then pressure test the tank & fuel lines & make sure the header/muffler isnt clogged.........

if the muffler was clogged would stuff be dripping out?

it sposta have a little oil comming out.....thats normal......but if its black i would take it off & soak it in some denatured alcohol to clean it & put it back on........

Revving when the throttle is closed can be caused by:

* Extremely lean mixture

* Air leaks

* A throttle that really isn't closed.

well i know its not lean i have it on factory settings, and I'm checking for air leaks and I'm pretty sure that the throttle is closed because the slide is in the normal postion. could it also run wot if the throttle trim is not right on the contoller?

if you take off your air filter and look down into the carb with the throttle closed you should ohnly have an opening of 2-3mm. Anything more than that and your throttle is not fully closed.

I've been having the same problems with a Picco .26 and once I changed the fuel tubing, tightened and sealed the carb and backplate it runs very smooth.

Yes. Does the motor slow down when you go to the brakes position on your controller?

You need to center your throttle/braker servo.

Set your TX trim settings to "0".
Take the servo arm off the T/B servo.
Adjust the idle screw to where you want it (about 2mm gap).
Put the servo arm back on, macking sure the carb slide is against the idle stop screw.

Now, when you give it brake, it should not die and it should not jump to WOT unless you squeeze the trigger.

It sounds to me as if your trim settings had gotten out of whack.

I'd also lean the HSN a tick or two. A large amount of raw fuel coming out the pipe indicates it may be a bit too rich.
