hey i ran my truck last night after i put a new spur gear on it and a the mutant cooling head and i cranked it, and it sounded good and then i couldnt go full throttle because all it would do is rev up but not go nowhere and if i go half throttle it would go but you know its slow so whats goin on with my truck. (i heard it might be the slipper clutch) HELP ME

Tighten down the slipper nut all the way the back off about 1/8 to a 1/4 turn and try it out. If that does not work, you could have a worn clutch pads or a problem with the internal transmission clutch if you are still running the reverse.

Since you replaced the spur gear and you are now having this problem I would think it is the slipper. When you replaced the gear did you also replace the slipper pegs? How many pegs are you running? I would suggest adjusting the slipper as robmob mentioned first, and I also suggest running 12 pegs as opposed to the 6 that come stock.

aight are you talkin about the nut that is at the end of the spur gear like that spring lookin thing the nut right on the end of that just tighten it up as much as i can

I'm running 12 pegs on my 72 Traxxas spur with great results, it's especially nice with the added power of the .18 I'm running now.

Peace

T-maxx winning, yes, the nut holding the spring to the spur gear is the slipper adjustment. Tighten it all the way down, then back it off about 1/4 turn.

30%, when I was using the stock set up, I too ran all 12 pegs, it was much better than 6, now I am using the RRP double disc slipper.
