Event starts @ 8AM. Earlier you get there, the more practice you get
Ok guys, the president of the club, Markanda needs an approximation of how many guys are coming. The reason behind it is because the Big Apple Circus will also be there at Cunningham Park so we need to block off our lot so it won't be overrun by trailers and elephants! Mark is in meetings with the "higher ups" and the circus to try and resolve the area crowding and rope off our section.

0800 - (8am, lol) Area is open. I will be there and will guide you where to park and setup.

0800-1030 Driver registration - Practice

1030-1100 Driver meeting

1100-1130 Qualifying

1100-1300 Practice (Lunch is served)

1300- Darkness shuts us down if necessary

So far I have the following people definitely coming:

Team 17
Robriguez
RatzoRC
Buncrana
Erickei1
ImBroken
Msly
Roadrunner

I will be PMing you guys for confirmation.

Don't forget, there is a prize for the days events sponsored by Nagengast Hobbies.

Just in case here are the directions once again on how to get to Cunningham Park:

From the Triboro Bridge:

1. From Triboro bridge, take Grand Central Parkway towards Long Island.
2. Exit from GCP on the FRANCIS LEWIS BLVD NORTH exit.
3. Continue on Francis Lewis Blvd north approx ¼ mile. Entrance to CUNNINGHAM PARK is on your right, immediately after the on-ramp for the GCP heading back towards the Triboro.
4. Follow winding road and we are in LOT #3. IT is the first parking lot on your left.
5. IF you reach the next traffic light on Francis Lewis, you have gone too far. That is Union Tpke. Turn around and the entrance to Cunningham Park will be on your right.

From the Verrazano Bridge:

1. Take the BQE to 495 East (Long Island Expressway)
2. Take 495 East to the Francis Lewis Blvd exit.
3. At Francis Lewis Blvd, turn RIGHT.(Heading south)
4. Follow Francis Lewis Blvd to Cunningham Park Entrance on your right side. (Once you pass Union Tpke, entrance is the next right.) Lot #3 will be on your left. Obvious by all the r/c’s and people running their cars.
5. If you see the entrance to the GCP on your right you have gone too far. Turn around at the next light and follow directions from the Triboro Bridge above, starting from #3.

From Long Island:
1. Take the Long Island Expressway EAST to Francis Lewis BLVD.
2. Make a left at Francis Lewis Blvd (SOUTH)
3. Follow Francis Lewis Blvd to Cunningham Park Entrance on your right side. (Once you pass Union Tpke, entrance is the next right.) Lot #3 will be on your left. Obvious by all the r/c’s and people running their cars.
4. If you see the entrance to the GCP on your right you have gone too far. Turn around at the next light and follow directions from the Triboro Bridge , starting from #3.

Optional route using the Northern State which turns into the Grand Pkwy:

I'm in! any change, I'll let you know.
What time is this gonna kick off?
What time are we out of there?

Are u telling me that we have to smell the stinky poop :horsecrap? We better burn alot of nitro to overcome the smell.

Don't worry, the smell of the BBQ, Nitro and denatured alcohol should cover it up!

Ok, this is from the head ... the schedule will be as follows ...

Practice 9-10 Drivers Meeting 10-10:30 10:30-1 Qualifying. 2pm the fun begins

It will be run as a "Rally" setup with one on one brackets for racers with similar skills/driving. Please email markanda with your frequencies so that we can get a frequency board up and eliminate any surprises.

Markanada's email

For anyone comming from Jersey, if you are not familiar with NYC and would like to go over in one big group please email me at [email protected] or PM me so that we can organize a meeting place that morning and take the trip together.

Unless someone disagrees we should meet up on the NJ side by 7:00-7:30AM so that we will have enough time to get there. I figure with traffic it will probably take an hour. LMK

Hey Diver, How many people show up to this park reguarly to race?

This is the first time I am actually spearheading one for the club but last year thre were a lot of racers. If you go to the clubs website, there are pictures on the events page ... Club Link

Ok, now that the dash and bash weekend will soon be upon us ... this weekend, May 23 I already know who the serious attendees will be. For those wishing to just "show up" and decide to race there is a charge of $10/ person wishing to race.

Please make note of the schedule:
Practice 9-10 Drivers Meeting 10-10:30 10:30-1 Qualifying. 2pm the fun begins

EDIT: This was also posted on another thread concerning the schedule

This schecule is flexible depending on weather and other conditions. This is the framework for the 23rd. There is one rule that must be adhered to, F U N - have it

Just an update for the 23rd's Tri-state Dash and Bash ...

The Big Apple Circus was a concern for that day because they were supposed to be using our lot for their trailers. All is well, there will be no livestock "droppings" or stench while we are there. The circus will be arriving the night of the 23rd, not during the day. It looks like it's going to be a good day for racing!

No animals will be there. The circus is moving in when we are done. Park closes @ sundown. I can't emphasize enough about littering. Please dispose of all trash properly. Ill make sure there are big bags for trash. If you have any issues or problems while at the park, come and get Diver or myself and we will resolve it quickly.

I will keep registration for the event open till the Drivers Meeting or earlier depending turnout. I just want to keep the number of racers at a level where everyone can have the ulitimate QURC experience. (not going to be crowded - racers that is)

Damn I'm gettin Suupped! Even the GF is planning on drivin. Shes not going to race or anything but shes making me bring her NMT just in case. Were going to be rolling deep with my Buggy, Savage, Onroad and the NMT. If I can get the wires to the ESC fixed I'll even bring my Electric to take on whoever...lol

I'm bringin a ton of Water and a cooler full of ice. I'll see if I can bring snacks n stuff as well.

Team17 and I will be meeting up around 07:30 at the Exxon Station on the NJ side of the Geothals. Anyone who wants to meet up with us please get in contact with me ASAP.

See you all there.

It's ok, she's not the only "woman driver" in the group. My wife has been getting pretty active. I'll let her keep on practicing her driving skills with the current mill before I stick the Novarossi I plan on buying for the NTC3. She's also getting pretty good with the Savage also ... God help us!

I might have to gracefully bow out!
I can't get my NTC3 started, And my MGT isn't fully broken in yet.
I'm going to my LHS now to see about a new mill for the NTC3.
If I get the MGT broken in tonight, I'm in!
