the RB is what i put in it. the kit versions don't come with an engine. when i stated stock, i meant the stock version of the V12, no modifications, normal plug, and 3 ports

ohhh i see. I saw a ntc3 plus for $275 shipped on RCU, i could probably get it for $265 shipped. It only has 7 tanks thru, so its not even fully broken in yet. i might go for it. Once I sell my gt, ill have about $75-80 to hop it up, get more tires, etc.

That's the RTR version. Good runner but not fully race ready. I never liked the .15 they include with it though. Good for learning but that's about it. Remember, the RTR comes with rubber tires and not foams so if you switch to foams, you'll need to also change the setup since there are different baseline settings between the 2.

alright. Do foams hold up well on the street? I would think they would be for carpet only, but I'm not sure.

I use foams on asphalt. That's all we use when we race. Rubber does nothing ... I can go through a set in a couple of hard runs. Foams can last longer, depending on what shore and your setup as well as driving style. In a race day, I can go through 3 sets. one for practic, one for the qualifiyers and one for he main.

Don't get me wrong, I can reuse the foams for doing shake down runs at the local track but on race day, you gota be on point and new foams for the mains are a must, especially with 20-30 minute mains.

Dayummmmmm thats gonna cost me. I will be driving on almost new paved parkinglot surface most of the time. I will get pvc tires for drifting (don't care if I have proper gearing). I will mainly use the stock rubber tires for practice in the parkinglot.

How much do these foams cost anyway? do they come in different compounds? which brand makes the best? sorry for all the questions, but i want to get this car ASAP because thinking about it the entire day for 2 days has gotten me hooked. I love how you can pretty much drive these on any pavement you find :D

The cost of foams and rubber is pretty much the same.I get my foams for about $11 a pair (mounted). They come in different shore ratings (hardness). The higher the # the harder the compound and less bite but less prone to chuncking. These are good for high bite tracks with high asphalt temps.

Too soft of a compound on a hot surface/high traction will make you traction roll and chunk very easily.

Thanks for clearing that up. Ill probably get a high # because my track is like a parkinglot surface.

MAN! That was the most perfect information! lol thanks alot, that is really going to help me. I read both of them and printed them out for future reference. that is some awesome info. I can't wait to race ;)

My plan is to get a NTC3 Plus from Tower (some some sort of price reduction of course). Then sell the engine and radio (if i have the patience, doubt it lol) I HATE those cheap ass radios. I can't even drive with them. Anyway... once I sell those, Ill get another airtronics fm rx so I can use my MX-3. Then Ill get a better engine. I'm only going to have around $130 left, so which engine do you recommend? I have never payed any attention to on-road engines before. Not sure if I can get a better, faster engine for that much money, but If you know of one, that would be great. I bet my dad would help me out on paying for it some.

Can't remember the exact price of the Fantom .12 but it is a pretty strong motor and if I recall correctly it is under 150.00 (I know you said 130.00).

Buggyracer28 - I have no idea what the TC3 Plus comes with. You may find that you need to get a new airfilter and a new pipe to go with an aftermarket engine. Its possible that a hi-po engine will not be well matched with the stock pipe and filter.

RDlogics has a nice 2 chamber as well as single chamber design. Both are in-line pipes. You'll have no problems with the pipes. The AE dual chamber will do well also. That's what I used on my novarossi ns12s3. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll point you the right way. Filters ... well, motorsavers are fine. Just make sure you get the proper diameter for the carb. There are 2 sizes.

Why wouldn't the stock pipe work with some engines? Do the engines have to be specifically for on-road? I don't need pullstart, ill just find the right spot on the starter box (thats what I do with my gt and it works well) that way I can keep my mbx-5's spot (that buggy is hard to fit for the box because the flywheel is small, and I got the perfect spot now). Plus I hate pullstarts.

The stock pipe will fit fine. Just remember, the rear exhaust versions have that "squirrel tail" pipe. Get the in-line pipe.

alright.... I'm going to hold off on upgrading the pipe for now... I don't have enough $ to do everything at once. I have a few things around the house to sell ie. Signed ichiro photo worth over $100.... so I could sell alot of stuff to make money. and I could work.......... not likely tho ;)
