My 1/5 scale Thunder Tiger nitro bike currently has a .15 engine. Does anyone know how to determine what engines will fit in the same footprint?
I'd like to go up to a better higher revving engine or step up to a .18. Any brand, as long as it's a good engine and a good fit.

As long as you stay in the .12/.15/.18 sizes,I don't think the foot print will be the issue. What you have to watch is the exhaust(side vs. rear),the carb(slide vs. rotary) and the crankshaft style to fit your clutchbell set up.

That OS is a rear exhaust. In a cycle there's no room for many modifications, especially with the pipe.
Traxxas 3.3 HAS been done in these but requires some cutting of the frame.

you may get away with a thunder tiger pro 18 as they both seem to use the same back plate and crank shaft ect,

you asking this dose that mean you are going to at-least start and and possibly run the bike once maybe :D

Oh, gee. Already he knows. :hehe:

The Thunder Tiger .18 is only .8 HP vs. almost 2 1/4 with the OS at the same RPM.

Yeah, the're proud of those Novas  And the ugly purple head :\

I don't know the power specs, but you could check the HPI Outlaw .18ss and the Losi 350.
I have the HPI on my son's Maxx. It's pretty stout compared to the .15 that was on it.
