when i start my savage x 4.6 the tires spin with the motor, and when i put the truck on the ground the truck cuts out unless i throw it ahead with the tires spinning. Just installed brand new clutch shoes. Even when i spin the roto start to start it, the tires spin with it. please help

if your saying you engine is running but the truck wont move your slipper clutch is prob loose tighten the nut thats on the end of the shaft, that the spur gear is on.

I'm saying that when i start the truck, the wheels always move with the motor. Even when i spin the motor over with the roto start, the wheeles spin. Its like the clutch id always engaged. When i put it on the ground, the truck bogs down and dies.

if its blowing out allot of smoke it could be too rich, and it could be to lean i would make it about a half a turn leane. as far as the clutch being "always ingaged" u could have to many shims with the clutch bell, check to see if you can turn the clutch bell freely ( turn it without have the engine tour over)

yes exactly as the owners manuel said to do

i took it apart again last night and i discovered that there's supposed to be 2 little ball bearings in the clutch bell, and that all the ball bearings fell out, which caused the clutch bell to be very loose and sloppy. Would this cause my problem?

My savage did this once...it turned out to be weak clutch springs. Sometimes a spring can get weakened when you install them...especially if its the first time you have done it.

i dont think their weakened because they were very hard to put in, and even now when i try to open up the shoes, there is alot of strain, so they arent weakened
