I have a dynamite mega peak charger that I need the receiver adapter for so I can charge my receiver pack. Where can I get one ?

thanks

I would only recommend this if you can adjust the charge rate down to about .5 volts. Anything higher will cause the battery to turn into a firecracker (personal experience).

That being said, the best way is to shell out about $10 and make one. Get a servo extension (6 inches will do ya fine, a company called "Cermark" makes 'em), and the connector that mates up to the charger... Then just solder 'em together, making sure that you match polarity. Don't worry about the third "signal" wire, it can be left to dangle without worry.

Or, you can remove it altogether. Your call on that one.

edit; The reason for the servo extension is so you get both male and female servo plugs, so you can use whichever gender you want/need. I personally made one with both male and female leads on it, because my GT uses a different gender charge lead than my Storm (soon to be replaced by an MBX5 Prospec) and Tmaxx. Just make sure you insulate the leads with shrink tubing.

i charge my hump packs at 1 amp.. the peak charger (i have the vision peak) does the rest.. the only thing i can change is the 1 amp or 4 amp.. and i havent made one a "firecracker" yet..

I would hope you charge to more than .5 volts....my servos wouldn't even work w/ voltage supply that low..... :D
working w/ low voltage electronics I guess I found that funny.....

10 bucks seemed a bit high....
just as a general rule of thumb you CAN charge at the same current the battery gives power at....ex: Battery current = 1200mah you can go as high as 1.2A charge...not reccomended because you will shortenthe life of the battery...the slower the charge the longer your charge will last and the longer the pack will last....the larger cells like for electric RC power packs you can overamp them more but they will die WAY quicker (life span wise) than if you do it properly...

sniff....whimper....[tucked tail]
damn I thought everyone would like me picking on somebody
ZANDOR gets to do it all the time.....
no fair
I'm tellin mom on you guys

I charge mine at 1000 milli amps, with a varying voltage anywhere from 6000 to 8000 milivolts. I know its high, but I haven't fried a pack yet. :p

Well you said that you work with low voltage so I thought it might be more on your level. :P

But seriously I charge at just under 1 amp, and unless your just using a wall charger your voltage will vary to get the most out of your pack.

Thanks Plaidfish !

I seached the net all night looking for one of thoes.

My chager charges receiver packs at 1 amp HeartBreak. :2cents:

I'm brutal on my stuff but I've been trying to charge at .3A the day before I race....and I bring a second pack charged at .5A nite before for practice...keep the slow charged one for the qualifiers and the [cough "B"] main.....I also bring a charger to the track w/ in case something happened to a charge.....I usually can run over 2 hours on the slow charged ones though....and that's a 1200 pack not a 2400

Heh, I meant amps - I'm kinda brain dead at 1am (well, more brain dead than usual). I estimated $10, due to the extension costing about $4, a pack of connectors costing about the same, and tax. It may vary from LHS to LHS.

So long as it charges at 1amp, you should be alright, whuggs1. Another option is to look into the brand of your radio. They might make an extension for the servo lead.

Personally, I charge at .5amp with my millenium, and it charges my 1100mah nimh's alright.

I knew what ya meant, I's jus bein a peepee and havn sum phun.....check that link I posted for whuggs up there man the adapters are pretty cheap....cheaper than the way you were goin about it ...and no labor involved...although if you have old crappy servos layin around and a fried batt pack...have at it.....I think we've all redneck engineered stuff at the track when you race, God knows I have

Hehe, no sweat. At the time, I was working at a hobby shop, so I used some old-as-all-heck servo leads.. Cermark may not even be around anymore (wouldn't surprise me... this LHS had RC10L parts on the wall, till I bought 'em all and built a car... then sold it on ebay).

Personally, since I hardwire, I use banana plugs/posts in place of the charger lead. The way I went about it was more for my personal benefit than anything.. Course, I leave it home - don't want someone lifting my redneck creation, lol.

Looked at that link, and that'll do the job, but, that's assuming he's not changed out the standard "tamiya" plugs, and thats' the gender he needs. Not a bad price at all... Course, once you put S&H to it, getting it at a LHS might be a better/cheaper course (unless they can just stick it in a .67 cent envelope).

Whuggs1, have a go at the link that plaidfish posted - it's a good chance that it'll be the right one for ya.

call and ask em about shipping...I'm sure they aren't going to charge 6.50 for shipping a 1/2 oz. item......
Heartbreak, I did the same thing you did but I have a charger that has bannana plugs for the out put side to the battery...I just made enough adapters from old stuff laying around to where I've got every possible combo of leads....and if I don't have it there's the set of alligator clips too..

I found one here also once I new what to search for http://www.hobbieguyrc.com/catalog/receiver_battery_pack_charger_adapter_3008683.htm Called my LHS before I ordered one and they have them for 3.49 so think I'll just pick one up.

Ok went to the hobby shop at lunch to find out the adapter they had was a 2 pin not the futaba J like I had asked :argue: The guy was real nice I talked to and ended up with the parts to build one for $4.50.
