Ok, so I'm looking to get an electric onroad to run around the hood with. No racing, just zipping around. I want electric so i don't have to get back into nitro and i want to try drifting as well. the neighbor kid has a really old nitro rs4 so we could race but thats about all the competition i would see. I want one RTR or close, and under $150. i dont mind used as long as its in good shape. I missed a really nice tc4 by $2.50 last night :(

What should i get? I know the tc3,4,and 5 are good rigs, but i see some losi cars, (xxx-s) and some 4-tec's. I am thinking shaft drive for durablility but the losi cars belt system looks pretty well protected. Checked out the trinity t-spec, but I've heard they are not very durable, and a bit heavy. If anyone has something to offer for sale LMK, and i will start a WTB thread. 1/8th scale would rock!! but those are rare, i will have to go with a 1/10th. i dont want anything smaller, this will not be ran on a groomed track.

What is the deal with the cars with the large rear tires? I don't know the terms, but they looke cool!

the large rear tire cars are pan cars. They are direct drive cars... only RWD. They are pretty much a race car... I never hear of anybody "bashin" pan cars. TC3 is a good for something to just run around with.

The Tamiya TT01 is a good electric 1/10 scale car, and you could pick one up for under $150. Theres also a lot of parts for them which are cheap aswell. And its shaft driven.

I use mine for drifting, and it works really well, then if i can't be bothered to drift i just change the wheels.

I'd stick with a TC3. The only upgrade from TC3 to TC4 is pretty much the steering rack, and it's shaky. The TC3 is a great car for onroading and drifting. The only problem is that if you slap on drift tires you will most likely spin out from stock settings. So you may need to keep two sets of differentials or keep the differentials tightened/locked. Or you can get a Yokomo with easy access differentials.

link to the yokomo? i like the tc's alot. now i just gotta find one with a good price.

dangit, i missed another nice tc3 last night by $2.50. i guess i need to start babysitting the laptop..

Nope. I don't think any link will work after the item has been sold, only viewable by the buyer and seller. What car was it?

Any pictures to steal from the ad?

looks like it has a decent esc for stock, and a 17t motor. should be a good start.
