Hey everyone, I got a question for ya; Found this little guy in the bathroom, in the corner, and was wondering if it's poisonous or not. Described it to the Terminex guy, and he said it could either be the young of a black widow (crap!), or the common house spider. Been seeing more and more of these lately, so I'm wondering if it's time to pull out the bug bomb and nuke the house.

I resized this down to 600x600, but the size is still pretty up there. If anyone wants a larger picture (for clarity), I'll be glad to send it to ya in email.

edit; the dime is super-imposed behind the spider to show the actual size of it.

edit 2; I just realised; the spiders' droppin the f-toe. I guess thats' what I get for putting it in tape and scanning it at 1200dpi (30+ seconds of bright light HAD to hurt). Oh, and if anyone from PETA is reading this......:thefinger :loser:

need to see it's back to really positively ID it....the black widows I've seen here are very dark...that color looks like a billlion other types.....

That is the worst case of the crabs I have ever seen. You might want to see a doctor for that.

Thanks guys. The underside is plain brown/solid. The topside is a 6-pack pattern of white dots. I should've labeled which one was top and bottom.

This ones' a juvenile, I know that much. It's roughly about 1/10th the size of ones I've seen.

edit: I sent a copy of the picture to the people that run that site; hopefully I'll get word back.

I'll print and take to my buddy who owns a pest control company. If it is a widow, it is a male as the females are black with the red hour glass shape.

BTW, I am making a huge sacrifice doing this as I have a borderline phobia about spiders. Even holding this printed picture is giving me the willies. lol

i dont know if its a widow or not but a juvi widow isnt black. they turn black when they get older. when they are young they are close to that color.

Looks to be one of those 8 legged kind of spiders... You may want to kill that one!

Whatever it is, I suggest you kill it if you haven't already. (I hate spiders)

One was crawling on me while I was driving and I was lucky I was on a little road with noone around cause I would hit someone lol.

When I was in high school I was skipping school and we got "followed quickly" by the police....we hid under a large lookout tower in Fern Forrest state park and had to keep from freaking out when these HUGE Spiders (wolf spiders I was told) started crawling on my back......I had to sit there quietly and my friends were too chicken poop to swat em off...I don't know how many but I could feel em crawling on my back through my shirt.......I don't hate spiders but i certainly don't want em crawling on me like that ever again.....

arent 'wolf spiders' real small and make massive webs along the floor?

Nope, They get they can get up to a couple of inches and don't have webs. I see them a lot at one of my favorite fishing spots.

I think you have a house spider there. Here is a pic of a male black widow.

It looks really close to that top picture, but only six spots, and the brown is solid. I found it on a web which was about 3-4 inches in diameter (must've felt like a condo to this little fellow).

I definately appriciate the help. Personally, I'm not afraid of spiders. I go by a live-and-let-live philosophy. However, if it's a moth or a fly.... SPLAT. I have no problems makin the last thing thru their mind, their behind.

I'm just hopin it's not a 'widow', or anything venomous. Just found out the bathroom has termites (caught it early), so I'm thinkin it's time for a bug nuke (that's another thing that has to be taken care of that I'm not lookin forward to).

gross. I dont know what kind it is, but I know it gave me the willies.. Uck.

Kill them all!
I'm with Ratzo on this one. Gives me the willies just thinking about spiders. Yup, I have a mild form of arachnaphobia.

I know spiders are helpful but as long as they do it out of my presence, they can live. If they make ab appearance they're dead!

I'll second that! Eat the bug, Mr. Spider, then get movin'!
