basically all this is is a"procharger"...a centrifugal supercharger. most superchargers "blow" air with a fan type deal such as your fan in your car or truck works...or how many furnace fans are designed they = very quick flow but not always very much....
really all I'm understanding we are getting from these rbi "superchargers" is they blow out the exhaust and getting more cleaner (cooler?) air. its actually a pretty good idea but i dont thing your getting the power for your $$.
While were on the subject...anyone used the "nitro" boost bottles or C02?

While you bring up some good points, there's ont thing that limits the effectiveness of the RB supercharger, scale. The squirel cage fans in furnaces have two things that work for them, size and number of blades. The bigger the diameter, and the larger the number of blades, the better the fan. Once you scale that down (and remember, air doesn't scale) to the size of the RB, the fan becomes less and less effective. Superchargers on 1:1 cars have lobe air pumps, not fans. Turbos have fans, but operate at crazy rpms to achieve pressure.

Now lets look at the air filter. From what I've seen and tried to figure out, the filter on the RB looks like a piece of coffee filter paper. There was no motor saver filter on any of the engines in the pix I have seen. This is pretty weak IMO.

Then there's the issue of keeping the engine tuned at all throttle settings. Assuming that the fan does produce pressure when it's spooled up, that would change the ammount of air entering the carb, but the needles are designed for non blown operation, and the higher the RPM the more air is blown into the carb. Seems like to me it would lean out the top end at WOT. Tuning for WOT would then richen up the low end, but the midrange on most engines can't be tuned.

I'm not saying that it won't work, but the headaches for trying to get it to work are more numerous than the benifit of maybe a little power boost. Plus it adds weight and drag to the engine.

On the subject of NOS and CO2 injection. there was one guy here that tried butane, and said it was worthless. NOS and CO2 are probably the same way. Tuning issues.

well i got my tranny fixed and scheduled a drag with my buddy!
i tlold him small block rpm would waste his big block torque in the long run well its realy cold here so i hadnt tuned my engine or started it for that matter until that day well we got the trucks goin
and he took off with out even lettin it warm up sheesh!! but i got mine up to like 160 f and then eased into the throttle it went ok until i gave it full thottle it was way to lean so i richened it then i leaned then i richenrd it then i leaned it was a pain in the butt ill tell you that I'm gonna givi it one more try then its goin bye bye:microwave

thats really great and great and i am amazed at how you can just go on and on without using any punctuation or periods or commas or anything else and still type things over and over becoming redundant and redundant and isnt a post like this hard to read maybe that is why we use puncuation in the USA.

I agree with you nitroaddict talking like this gets annoying and hard to understand and i change my opinion about the supercharger when looking at the diagrams and the sleeve and piston and superchargers work by shoving a crapload of air into the engine but it just shoots it out the end and that is a waste of money and heavy

Next time you have your engine apart for cleaning, rotate the drive shaft, and blow air into the cylinder. Notice the air coming out the exhaust!! It is how a 2 cycle works. No way to get around it.

Now, a 4 cycle would be great for a supercharger.

:wtf: sorry i aint good at grammer and spelin and punkshiation and stuuf like them thear rich boys. lol what the hell is your problem phuckers i was in a hurry. whats with every one on this site and punctuation sheesh I'm glad i have life and read the post for the post not for correct grammar!! go be a teacher or something.

You guys can take this pissing match to the FFA if needed.

i agree.... why the heck are you all complaining about punctuation..this isnt school and we can type however we want..... HAHA like my repeated use of periods!
