well I will say this to all the on road guy's out there my hat's off to you.I got my N-TC3 as a roller I put the 18cr-r in it and today was the first day after breaking in the motor I was abele to drive it. "what a chore" How do you guy's drive this thing? I was just barley touching the trigger and it was out of controll.my tires are slick's that's how I got the car what tires would you guy's say is best for begginers just starting out driveing on road I'm not new to nitro just new to on road .any advice would help before I go to my lhs and lay down the cash

id either get soft threaded rubber tires, or just go all out with foams, id go with foams only if your going to drive it in a really clean place with not too much derby(sp) or small rocks. if you do go with foams then prepare to be able to control your car with no problems it will feel like your driving on rails!

other than that, enjoy your ride!

Throttle control is the key component to driving these things. It's not all full on and full off, especially when running an 18 in there. Take things slow and learn the cars reaction to different inputs fia throttle and steering.

I have been racing onroads for 2 full seasons but been into it for 3 seasons. Throttle control is key! Also remember, you're on rubber tires. There is a certain percentage of tire roll when turning and firmness of the foams inside will also determine reactions from your input.

I don't use rubber tires anymore. I strictly run foams since I am racing. I no longer run and bash at the parking lot anymore. I gave that up when I fell in love with racing.

IF you want your car to perform well, get a setup board. You don't have to go all out and get a HUDY system. Those are very expensive and won't prove to be "better" than another brand. Since you are just learning the car, I would suggest a PMB setup system. It only costs about $60. A HUDY system will cost you above $200. take your pick.

Remember, these onroad cars are very ractive AND suspension settings will have either positive or negative outcomes. There's nothing in between. So, with this said ... get a setup station, also get the XXXmain setup guide book and also reer to the back of your NTC3 manual for the base settings. Take note, there are 2 settings, one for foams and one for rubber. Use the settings needed for your tires.

well most of your racing tires or even bashing tires are going to be slicks. You are going to see a differance on what racing you get. I use take offs 37 or 30 I think... You pick a tire on what the temp. of the surface.. if it is cold then you buy tires with more traction, in the long run these tires wont last long. if it is hot then you buy a tire with less traction. this tire will last long. I am not sure how the number system works.. but I am sure someone will help out with that. Also you sort of have to tune your car to your driving style... I know when I built my tc4 it took a good 3 days to get it to turn right and roll smooth ect.

well as far as suspension goes it's got the stiffest spring's I have see and there's no sway bar's on the car.as far as where I drive ass-fault parking lot's mostly.and there's no manual I need to order one from my lhs.I sure love that motor run's great tuning is a breeze.unlike my 2.5 in my jato/N-pede. I'm getting the 18tm in all my r/c and throwing the 2.5 in the trash. that over heating tuning carb problem pain in the ass

Well, stiff doesn't necessarily mean best. Stock on the NTC3 is Copper in the front, gold in the back. This is more than adequate in a parking lot situation. The manual can be downloaded from www.rcdocuments.com. No need to order it. Just d/l it and print. Sway bars are not necessary in a parking lot, even when racing but they do help.

As I said, the proper suspension settings in this car (toe, camber, caster, droop) are essential if you want it to perform correctly. Trust me, I raced this car for a full season, By the time I was done with it, nothing was original in the car except for a few screws. If you can find it, get an item called "the fix" off ebay. This is not readily available at most LHS's but can be found on eBay. The seller is fly0 andis based out of florida.

YOur front end will thank you for it.

thank's guy's for all the help.I forgot to mention that it's bump start.and yeah I hade a terbel time trying to start the car.trying to get the motor fly wheel to line up with that rubber wheel .see I have no set pins in the box I got it used on a deal .well let me just say it's been a real head ake.untill lats knight I put a stop to all that I drilled to srcew's into the box just high enough to slid the chassie into to grove and problem fix I just wish I would of thought of it sooner.see the problem is I had not seen this box before nore heard of it untill I got my RC10gt and it had a blown motor. so I sold the car keep the box witch now I'm glad $70 value. big mistake on seeling the car beacuse now I understand how everything work's.now I see every body want's the gt and I just off it for $50 buck's some times I can just kick my self

The rubber tire set-up runs copper in front and gold in the rear.Foam tire set-up runs red front and back..But oil weight is diff..But I ran the rubber tire set-up with foams and it handled great...I followed that set-up in the manual exactly..
