MySpace is crap! It's a haven for molestors, pedaphiles, pervs, and all the other dreggs of humanity. I WILL block myspace from my pc when my sons are old enough to be on the computer. I tried reading yours Andy, and felt I lowered my IQ just by reading some of that poop, sorry bro. I still like ya though, but imo myspace is a complete useless waste of bandwidth.

I know theres alot of people who dont like it, but dont let what the papers tell ya or the news make your decison. Not saying it has, but it gets a pretty bad wrap. I've been on myspace for a few years already and have never had a incident or came across weirdo's. Granted I've had a few 40/50 year old women wanna "Show me the ropes" but nothing to major. I've actually had good luck with myspace. I've got to reunite with alot of my old classmates who have spread out since graduation, and even a old penpal I had in gradeschool. Without myspace I would have lost contact with these people for sure. It all boils down to common sence. Bad things will happen over the internet to people who let it happen. Just gotta use your noodle.
I dont see how reading my profile could lower you IQ. Its basically just a desription of me. Thinks I like, my fav movies and such.. Might have been boring cuz ya know me, but dont see hwo it could make a person stupid..lol..

Anyway, I dont want this thread to turn into another "Myspace thread", just figured since they say that 75% of people on the net have a myspace, its another place we can put Rc talk into. Maybe stir up a couple new members.

oh you said you tried reading mine, and felt your IQ fo down..lol. I thought ya meant my profile. But no I totally agree there are alot of weirdos on Myspace (and the net in general. There everywhere) and alot of stupid profiles. Depnds on how ya use myspace I guess. I dont use it for dating, so I guess thats probably why I havnt had any probs. I just thought a myspace group would be a good place to expand the rcnt experiance with and a easy place to put a name to the face.
 
Now, here's the main thing that pisses me off about myspace...when it gets to where TV shows and movies have their entire website on myspace. "It's always sunny in philedelphia" was one of the first, even though it's one FUNNY-ASS show, but comon. I know some recent movie did the same too, although I can't recall it off the top of my head.
The whole stalkers and weirdos thing doesn't bother me too much cause, comon, it's common sense, stupid!
 
First off I hope you are not calling me stupid!

Next, I am concerned, for my kids, although still too young to be on a pc chat room. It's niave kids that fall in to the traps set by the predators on myspace and chat rooms. If you deny that they are there, and go there to "meet" people, you can easily fall victim to some scamming pos predator, and then who's stupid?. You can't and don't know for sure if the pic of a person you are seeing and talking to is even that person, and in many cases it is not. It is way too easy to for scumbags to gain access to innocent people and children that are just looking for a way to meet new people. Hey try this, get the hell out of the house and off the damn pc and meet real people. Go to the movies, bowling, water park, or anyplace that has real people and you can see who they are. Wow! What a concept!
 
Yea, ok, I understand the concern as a parent, and I do apologize, but the statements I made about being stupid were generally concerning kids of the highschool age....well, those freshmen are another story, wanna buy a key to the pool on the roof? How about an elevator pass? LOL.

My first trip into myspace....only thing I've heard about it, is when they bust some pervs...Like Steve Largents kid.
 
I can't wait to see MySpace burn in the depth of hell. Grrrrrrrrr

I just can't stand all the poop that goes on there, the fact that since its such a big hit all the corporate guys are exploiting the hell out of it for free advertising and poop. Especially all the music artists. Then theres the fact that its more of an oldschool AOL Chatroom with pictures than anything else.

Maybe I'm just getting too old but I think the crap that these kids are putting up on their MySpace pages is just truely disgusting and a very bad indicator of how the youth today is comepletely fiddlesticked up.

Oh, hell, I agree. Many of the youth of today are screwed up. Sex, alcohol, drugs, and all of them glamorized on Myspace with some of these teens (and younger). I have a page, but I use it for posting pics, talking to people (mature people, closer to my age group of 30-45). and posting video. oh, and writing things. I don't think Myspace is really that much different than the xangas, msn's, and aol's of the world. it's just getting a lot more press for whatever reason.
 
Could be a easy fix for all of it. Make it 18 plus. Make people get verified of there ages. Even with parents keeping myspace blocked on there computers and stuff, if they wanna do it, they will find a way to get on it. (Library, school, a friends house) Same goes for anything else. (Drinking, smoking, etc.) Its just the changing of the times.

Anyway, this group is a safe place (unless GotNitro starts talking dirty again :) )

Uh huh...took a look at the friends list and, wow, what a collection of deep thinkers. I am especially digging the tramp stamp on Dixie!

You do have, in my opinion, some of the most eclectic tastes in music that I have ever seen. Johnny Cash to Tupac? I'm in no way busting on ya, I think it's cool you have such varied tastes. I have just never seen that pairing before.

Oh, and inviting this crew to witness the "Andy Pandy" comment, wow! You must have a set that clank, brother! I'll bet Zandor damn near stroked out thinkng of how much fun he could have with that comment! You're a much braver man than me!


Now, about Dixie. Just she like photography? (nudge, nudge...wink, wink...he said knowingly)
 
lol... Dixies my sister..lol... I know the tramp stampos dumb, but it gives me something to tease her about..lol..

far as music, yeah I'm kinda wide varietied..lol.. I used to be mainly a hip hop fan until it went to poop. Use to tell a story and now its just about bling and money.. So it made me find alot of other good people I like. (Kinda glad).
