Hey Guys,

I just got back from my LHS and I have now in my possesion a brand new Jammin' X1 CRT kit! Whoo! Hooo! I am getting ready to tear into the box here in a few minutes... as soon as my fiance' gets home to help me get it out of the truck! LOL The guy at the hobby shop helped me get it into the truck, but getting it out is all up to me. At least I can now drive for short distances now so I can at least get to the hobby shop. Having a gimp leg stinks!:opps: Oh well, she is due home in few minutes. I will take some pics and post them here. Take care.

Yeah, that was my fisrt thought, "How is Gimpy driving around?"

Great news. Now you can crack a beer and get started. Take your time and enjoy it. Nice way to spend a few evenings. :wasted: :duff: :w00t:

Thanks guys for the well wishes. I have gotten the diffs built and the shocks built so far. Although I had to build the diffs twice because I got the cups in the wrong spot. Rookie mistake. What a mess though! The shocks went together well, however the front shocks are a couple of mm short of the 37.5 they say should be the lenght of the front shock shafts. I have tried to lengthen them with no luck. Is this going to hurt the truck at all? If so I guess I am going to have to order new front shocks. I really hope I haven't hurt things too much. Also, where to the shims go when you are building the front gear case? It looks like they go over the cups but when you put the over the cups and in front of the main bearing they just hang loose. Are they supposed to go there? Thank you fo rthe help. I will keep you posted. Take care.

That didn't take long! Congrats!!!

Yeah, I was shocked too. My LHS said it would not take long, I was thinking a week or more, but it was here in two days. I was impressed. Unfortunately it will take me longer to build! LOL Take care man.

Thanks Revo my friend. I am going to take it slow and enjoy this. It will be my last kit for a good long time! LOL I will keep you posted! Take care.

I'm new to the truggies myself.
I just bought the Mugen truggy from Rush rc.
I guess we'll learn together.

Sounds good to me my friend. Congrats on the truggy! Mugen makes some nice stuff. It really came down the the Jammin truck or the mugen. What helped me make up my mind was that my LHS carried all the ofna parts regularly. Good luck on your truck. Let me know how it goes!

Well, guys... the build was going great, I was just about to finish the front suspension, and the last kingpin was to large to fit through the bushing. So I am stuck until I can find a new kingpin. I am rather disapointed. I was motoring along just fine. Now I have to wait till Monday to call Ofna to see if they will send me a new kingpin so that I can finish the build. Or get my LHS to order some new ones. A stupid $2 part stoped me dead in my tracks. Well at least I have nothing but time. Maybe I will go ahead and mount the tires on the wheels and all that fun stuff. Take care guys I just had to rant.

Congrats on the new ride.

I am thinking of obtaining the CRT myself in the not so distant future. Either the CRT or the B5. The delays of the B5 has dampened my exitement for it so I am starting to lean toward a truggy.

Try as little wet/dry sand paper, 1200 grit, and roll the kingpin in it. I have ad that happen, sometimes it is just matter of a thousandths of an inch.

this is one of those issues that you deal with for getting the OFNA truck...not big issues when you have a lil experience (or a forum of it)...all the parts in the kit will work, some just need to be shown how to....:D

I am showing it as best I can. I have grinded that thing down until all the nice anodizing is gone and the thing still will not go on. I don't have any wet dry sandpaper, but I am thinking I should go find some. Since everything is still under warrenty I am going to call my LHS and get them to replace the part anyway. Even if I get it to work, I still feel I may need a spare in the not so distant future! LOL It just sucks is all. All that money spent and the smallest damn part doesn't work!

Yeah I know what you mean. I don't know alot about the B5 but I heard a few others talking about it. The reason I ended up going for the truggy instead of getting a better buggy was because a truggy is the best of both worlds... You not only get an MT, but you get an MT that can haul arse and handle just about as good if not better than some buggies. I just can't wait until I get this thing built. Let us know what you decide. Take care my friend, and thank you for the congrats.

Hey Guys,

Here are a few pics of the new CRT... and the parts I have managed to get together. I am half way through the front end... but the stupid Kingpin still does not fit! More pics to come...

Does anyone know if the fact that my front shocks are just a few mm's off of the 37.5 mm posted length is going to hurt me? Thanks guys.

Tom

not at all.....it will just sit a lil lower.....you can probably get a slightly longer shock end if it is....OR bitch to OFNA and they'll probably send you ones to correct the mis advertised part..:D

Cool.. I was not thinking a couple of mm's would hurt me. I was just curious. I am trying to build this kit as slowly and carefully as I can. I don't know exactly how things are supposed to look and feel quite yet since I am still learning about shocks and diffs and how they work. My biggest fear is that I will get this thing built and it won't work. I do plan on calling Ofna about the Kingpin and I will mention the shocks as well. I just wanted to make sure that I have not screwed anything up as of yet! Thanks for the help. Hey Plaid... did you see the pics of what I have built so far? The diffs were the first thing they had you build but the shocks were not until much later, but I took your advice and got the shocks built as well. Take care.

Yeah man.... My lhs has a decent off road track right behind it. We are supposed to start getting the track ready to race sometime around the third week of March. Hopefully everything will be dialed in my then.
