can a clutch bell engage on its own if its barely touching the spur gear?

i was breaking in a hot bodies .18 mill and the clutch engage eating my spur gears teeth away. oh yeah it was in my nitro sr4 mt. i must of not put enough thread lock on because when i checked the 2 screws under the manifold holding the motor mount had came out and the screws under the truck were also loose. so now i have to waite 2 weeks until i get the 2 speed to finish the break in. oh well my mistake.:opps:

does the spur gear keep the clutch in check i hit the throttle?

If the CB is not binded, it should not spin at all until the engine is revved up enough to enguage it. Maybe you have bad bearings or the CB is not shimmed correctly so it it is always spinning with the crankshaft??

when it happened today i thought it was weird because yesterday when i was doing the heat cycle the car didnt move only when i pulled the trigger on the remote. I'm going to work on it tomorrow though.
