Hello!

I have a great problem with my new T-maxx. When i push the starter on the EZ system, it wont start (no ignition, just the sound of the engine).
So I removed my glow plug and testef if it was glowing. It Wasn't! Then, I put it in a glower and it was glowing! So the Glow plug isn't broken.
I'm a newbie, and don't know so much, so please can someone help me?

If i remove the glowplug from the engine, and push the (electric line?) on it. Then the plug has to glow? Mine doesn't. Just as you now is the starter fresh, and charged.

So how do I fix this problem?!

Often the EZ starts wiring to the glo plugs will not do the job as well as a hand held glo plug igniter will. One of the first things that I did was to remove the wire to the plug and get a glo stick...try disconnecting the wire and use the hand held stick for better results. You may also want to remove the plug, turn it upside down and crank the engine over to remove any excess gas to insure that your engine is not flooded before restarting.

While the truck is upside down, disconnect the fuel to the carb so you don't pull more fuel into the carb. I had this same problem and I just yanked the wire and used a separate glow ignitor. problem solved. Let us know what happened.

Manga,

One good thing about nitro engines is that they are relatively simple. There ain't many moving parts to worry about, which leaves only a few simple issues if an engine won't start, such as:

1) FUEL - is fuel getting to the carb? These things need to be primed, which you can do by holding a finger over the stinger (muffler exit) until you see fuel being forced up to carb.

2) COMPRESSION - Since your truck is new, this probably ain't the problem.

3) AIR LEAK - If you have the tiniest air leak, it won't start. Air leak could be around card or backplate. Again, if your truck is new, this probably ain't the problem.

4) IGNITION - The ignition system is easy. It's the glow plug. Just make sure the glow plug is working so that it is glowing brightly when trying to start engine.

Also, when trying to start engine, you may need to work the throttle, or just screw in the idle stop screw to open it up. Plus, it is best to warm up the engine a little by using hair dryer or heat gun (on low setting) on the cylinder head. If it's 40 degrees out and you are trying to start a really cold engine, well, it simply may not start at that temp.

You will definitely need to learn a little something about these engines if you ever want to have any fun. Here's a link to some good tips and tricks for tuning and troubleshooting: http://www.traxxas.com/support/howto/trx_howto.htm

Stick with it cause once you figure it out, you'll have a blast.

Remove your glow plug again, and attach the wire to it. If you just push the starter button, it will not light up. It still needs to be grounded. Hold the threaded part of the glow plug against the head, make sure you have good contact, and now press the starter. Does it glow now? If it doesn't, check the ground wire to the engine base.

dude ur making this way to complicated. Get a glow igniter, and thats it. Or you can get one of the heacy duty starter cords from an aftermarket comopany.

I suggested something he needs to check.
A heavy duty start wire won't help if the problem is the ground wire, something often overlooked.

Maybe X-Gamer7 is referring to my post. I know I mentioned quite a few things, but the bottom line is: you gotta learn the basics to run nitro and have any fun. At the very least, manganallen should go to the Traxxas web link I posted and read up on break-in, tuning and troubleshooting.

LOL here, too. I guess we got what we were waiting for.

Anyone here know how to help him with a stubborn Mad Force?
He can then sell that one, and get a Team Losi.
Then an Ofna
Then.......
Trade if for his old Tmaxx.
