The sidewinder was a nice choice over the cheap ones you were considering, the programmable adjustments are just amazing! I have looked at the Atlas servos too but wasn't sure about them, let us know how it performs.

I got a question about mounting this sidewinder. I have a cool idea I was thinking about doing to mount it, but I was wondering how hot these run? Would it be ok to mount it in a sealed box or will it overheat? I want to keep it high and dry.

John from Holmes Hobbies thought very highly of them, he said he felt it was a superior product to the 645. I was actually going to order a 645, but after talking with him I decided to give this one a try on his recomendation. I'll let you know how it does after I get it running.

I ran it in my Wheely king with a 4600 on 2s lipo geared 15/96 and it didn't even get warm. In a Stampede with the same 2s pack and 4600 geared 19/87 it was 100-105 after a full run. It would probably be ok but you shoould keep a close eye on it. Maybe make a working snorkel from the box so it can get a little air....Would also look cool!

I am actually thinking of building a fuel cell for the square space behind the cab, so I wouldn't be able to snorkel it and have it look scale. I don't know, I may have to rethink this. :\

yeah mine never gets hot, nor really warm.

I thought I might get a good beat down here for choosing the Integy 55T for my crawler, but since you got one by them, I guess I'm okay. I have to say, I'm seriously impressed with it.

I just noticed that the Atlas servo is a Hyperion, if the quality of the servo is like their chargers that should be a nice servo!

While talking with John at HH, I told him what I was going to use the truck for and I asked him about his 35 turn handwound motors. He said for what I wanted to do, I would actually be better off with the Integy 35 over his, and his was $45, this was only $17. So I took his advice and got one of the Integys. I had Integy 55s in my super and although I only used it a few times, they seemed really nice, especially for what they cost.

I will be peeling the integy sticker off mine though. :hehe:

That was one reason I decided to try one out.

I have a nice Integy tool-bag. The stitches came out second time using it. Wanna buy it.

I have two actually.

nope i havnt, i just buy from someone who sales their stuff and if it break it break, every other brand i use does the same thing for me lol.....
have you got any of your electronics installed joe?

Not yet, I have been trying to decide the best place to mount the esc, but I need to go by the nerd shop and pick up some styrene. I have been working on getting the tranny and driveshafts in, and working on some temporary shocks though.

Wow Joe. A very impressive job.
and all from scratch. The interior and fire extinguisher had me baffled on how you did it..lol.
Looks awesome bro!

any progress to report Joe?

any progress to report Joe?

A little, not too much, been real busy the past few days.

I have been redoing some shocks. I took some Losi XXX-NT shocks, stripped the anno of them, sanded the tops round, installed internal springs, and painted them white. I picked up some red shock boots from RC4WD, but I still need one more, so I guess I will need to buy another 4 pack :\ I also want to get some rancho decals for them and then I will clear coat them.

I have also started building a fuel cell to mount in the area behind the seats that will actually house the esc, it will keep it high and dry and clean. But I need to pick up some more styrene befor eI can finish it, so that's on a temporary hold.

I purchased a RS310 from Savagefan04 that I am still waiting to get here, then I can get my electronics hooked up too.

WOW! those turned out great man, look very scale.....great job man
