Hey all,

I installed all my graduation/birthday presents on my truck. I rebuilt the entire truck while doing this, and it took a long time haha. Before it was a 100% stock Savage X. During the rebuild I installed:

-Picco .28 engine w/3 shoe alumium clutch and 18T CB
-HPI Polished tuned pipe
-40 Series Masher tires with Velocity 6 rims
-HPI Reverse kit
-HPI Wheelie bar
-HPI Dual Stainless steel brake kit
-Put 5000 wt. oil in the diffs
-Installed my JR XR3i radio
-Hitec HS-5645MG steering servo
-Hitec HS-5625MG throttle/brakes servo

I think thats it. This truck sure is a beast now. I am on tank 2 of the breakin, can't wait to open up this .28, I heara great things about it.

Good looking truck. I'm jealous.

Let us know how the break-in goes.

damn man thats pretty cool truck let me now how the engine goes I'm thinking of geting one

Very clean. It looks like it came from the factory like that. Money well spent.

Yea I did a lot of cleaning lol. Before the rebuild it was coverd in mud. There is a piles of dirt on the floor from where I cleaned it lol.

Clean rebuild AC, Keep us updated on the break in. And definitly show us pics of the first dirty run! Have a blast.

Yo AC, get you and your truck down here! I just got the used Tmaxx I was talking about. We need to go bashing!

Will do Badsneaker.

Well I got a few tanks through the Picco and I am very impressed. Thank god I got the wheelie bar, I'd spend more time on the lid than on the tires without it. As soon as HPI gets off their ass and comes out with a 47T spur I am gettin that and a 19T CB. 18/49 is pretty insane. Its pretty easy to start which is nice, but the damn pullstarter is so short its hard to get to with the roll cage on there, but if I took that off my engine would be all scratched up by now. Its not too dirty yet, kept it on pavement and grass for breakin.

Its doing great. I've finished the breakin and have begun to fine tune it. It seems very easy to tune, but I won't hold it for a whole tank due to the stupid savage tank and its leaning problems. I've got it tuned so when the tank hits about half full I bring it in and richen it 1/4 turn and its good to go.

The power is quite impressive. This thing sure has a lot of torque, even with the 18T CB I still have a hard time keeping the front wheels down. It seems to have a lot of top end too. I haven seen the full potential of the top end as I have just finished breakin. Seems to pull a lot harder, a lot longer than the F4.1 did.

Reverse is a lot of fun haha, you can do some crazy stuff in reverse.

The wheelie bar is nice, it helps out with keeping it off its lid, but if you nail it it'll still flip right over.

That's pretty sweet AC. I just went and tidyed up my radio box and am in the process of sorting out my 'charging' station. I was wondering if a TRS would be wise hrm! I saw some traxxas ones @ Rush RC.

thats cool man yeah i just got done cleaning my it looks brand new i wont to get a bigger engine for mine tho.

Carbon_Savage, yes they do, but that one is for the regular Savage. Those will not fit the Savage X as it has a new slipper clutch design and has slipper pads on both sides of the spur gear.

The Picco has been great to me, great power and easy to tune. I tore it down before I ran it and it looks to be of very high quality. Its a 9 port engine, never seen a sleeve with that many ports before haha...10 including the exhuast.

Geez, what a girly truck! All nice and shiney. Only thing you need now is a Ken and Barbie doll!

Wheelie bars are for rookies!!

Kidding! Nice rig, AC! Now, quit futzing around and go get it dirty!

Oh its already pretty dirty, those pics where taken just after I rebuilt it. A couple of reverse doughnuts in the dirt and all the cleaness was gone haha.

those tires seem smaller than the big joes I got hrm! I thought all the 40 series were the same?

Another question - do you close off the opening for the 3rd servo in the radio tray if you don't have the reverse kit installed?

Mike, you are right, the big joes are bigger. They are wider than the Mashers, but I like the size and tread of the mashers better.

Yea, at least on my X it came with a cover for where the third servo would be.

Any one know if you can *buy* a cover for this slot? Got a bit of chopped up plastic closing it now...
