hey, just wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on what to check on my truck. i have a XTM 24.7 Pro in the truck. it used to run awesome. now it doesn't want to shift correctly, and when it does it boggs down, and usually cuts off. i have tried adjusting the carb, which i feel I'm pretty good at. nothing changes. the only thing i can think of is the glow plugs. i had to run to the LHS and get a couple, being i dont remember what kind of plugs i was running, i asked for their help. the guy sold me OS #8s. I'm thinking i had A5s before. but again I'm not sure. it use to fire up on the first pull or two as well. now it takes a few when you first start it up. i reset the carb to the factory settings as well, tried a little richer, and a little leaner, no luck. any help would be great!!

With my 24.7 pro I ran mc59 plugs. Those seemed to be the easies to tune and run the best.

How is your compression when hot? How much fuel have you run through the engine?

What is your weather like? The #8 plug is a Medium temp plug and the A5 is a little colder than that. I suggest going to a Hot plug like the A3 or a McCoy 59. How fresh is your fuel?

I have the same engine in my Savage and it ran well with the MC59 using 20% fuel. I moved to a MC-9 when I went to 30%. This is all done with my ambient weather conditions.

my fuel is not the freshest, for sure. that could also be part of the problem. the weather here today was about 70º but it does the same thing in 50º and 90º weather. i dont run the truck very often, even less since i moved away from my friends. I'm wanting to sell it but, i dont want to sell it when its not running well. it all changed with the new plugs, but it could be the fuel. its old, probably a year old since i bought it. the motor has great compression, and has very little run time on it. it may have had 1/2 gallon of fuel ran through it. i will try to pick up some fuel and maybe a new plug and go from there. dont know why i didnt think about that LOL.
