Just wanted to share with you guys my Revo. This is actually my second Revo. The first Revo I owned, was basically stock. I sold it since I only really used one.

This Revo has gone thru many changes. First mods done to the Revo was an RB 323TM. Now I admit, this engine is a beast, but way too damn loud, even for my tastes. The power was great, but my local track would put me with the big block monster trucks, and the competition was better with the small block monster truck class.

So I traded my RB 323TM with a guy in NY, for an OS 18TM w/ a trinity pipe. I've been tuning it on and off for the past week. I finally got it well tuned a few days ago, and I must say, this engine is sweet. Very nice wide powerband. Power is instant, yet not overpowering. With the stock gearing, wheelies on pavement is automatic.

I just installed the 17 clutch bell onto my OS18TM today, and I have to say, what a HUGE difference in top speed. AND, I don't know about you guys, but concrete/black top, I can still pull wheelies from a stand start position with wide open throttle on the transmitter, all day. Now, I'm not a big fan of wheelies, but I am very impressed with this engine. Even with a very high gearing of 17/38, I can still pull a wheelie. As for top end...amazing. If stock is around 40-45 mph, I'm assuming with this type of gearing, I'm getting close to 50mph, maybe more. And whats best, my temps are hovering around 220 deg. F, and still running rich.

Here's a list of my mods:

OS18TM w/ trinity pipe
JR 8800T single steering servo
Hitec 525MG throttle/brake servo
17/38 gearing
tekno wing and mount
motosaver air filter
P2 rockers
rotostart - took off the EZ start to save weight
Traxxas red aluminum pushrods
standard size bowtie tires on HPI rims
KO Propo EX10 w/ spektrum
Crowd Pleazer body

Next up is the forward only conversion (haven't figured out how to use the reverse on my EX10), which I have bought but haven't installed. I haven't done that many mods, but I feel, this truck would definitely be competitive at a track, which is what I am trying to accomplish. Here's some pics of my Revo:

Really?!? I have found that most Trinity pipe users find the Trinity too loud, not the other way around. Were you using the stock RB pipe?

I have yet to be placed in a BB MT class, but I have been put into the unlimited a few times. Even in practice you can hear the guys saying, "Look, it's not a truggy, but it has a BB motor so he has to be in unlimited". I always counter and state the engine is not a BB, just appears that way because of displacement.

I see you are running HPI wheels and Bones tires. Do you find any clearance problems on suspension extremes? Did you do the Slayden mods to get more steering?

I have a Trinity too and man...it gets annoying after awhile. I've gto 2 pipes right now, and Fantom Performance pipe and Tsiais Dual Exhaust. The Fantom pipe proves much more bottom end torque and the Tsais gives a lot more top-end.

Personally....Fantom Kicks A*S!!

Tighty - I feel the OS has a nicer power curver than the RB, but the RB is a beast. Lots of power. The OS is easier to handle on a Revo for sure.

Revo - I don't think the Trinity pipe is loud at all. At idle, the sound is exactly the same as stock. At WOT, the sound from the Trinity pipe is definitely louder than stock but not as bad as the RB. I used the stock RB pipe, and I still felt the RB was way too loud for me.

I'm actually running HPI wheels with bow ties, but I do have HPI Savage SS rims and bones tires as a spare set. Not as grippy as the bow ties, but they're good backup tires. I dont have any clearance problems with either, but I haven't done Slayden's mods. I feel I get enough turn angle with stock, and since I'm running a JR 8800T steering servo, the steering speed has greatly increased as well.

Fubar - I like Tsais pipes as well. I haven't used it on the Revo, but I have used them on my Mugen MTX3 and they perform great. Their top end pipes rock.
