ok i was driving in this big park today and when i brought it back in, my car was about 280 degrees?! i dont understand becuase its running really rich and i only turned it out by one turn clock-wise out since break-in. my head was steaming for about a sec but i think iam a bit worried. my car runs like a champ, no slow downs and it can idle the whole day. iam am worried about the heat. what could be the problem hear! :normal:

280 is an ok temp. Different engines of the same kind can be different in needle settings because of temp and stuff. If it is running really good you could leave or richen it up a bit. As long as you're below 300 you should be ok.

ok thanks, on the safe side i richen it up. man i wish my shock end rods would stop falling off, iam so mad!! i want to drive my savage

clockwise is making it leaner, and it also runs the needle in (not out).

I'm curious as to what timeof the day this happend? One of my first experiences was how much of a difference outside temp and other atmospheric conditions plays in an engines performance. One of the big things around here (NE Ohio) is "if you don't like the weather wait 15 min. Well.. I think enough is said

it was around 3 0'clock and it was about 80 degrees outside

whoa you turned it in clockwise by ONE! That is a pretty big jump. You should try adjusting in increments of 1/8 to no more than 1/4. Turning one complete revolution is a lot!. try richening up the HSN. BTW what needle are you adjusting? Adjust HSN then the LSN then re-adjust the Idle set screw.

Jon

Did you check you temps right after a run and then after it's idled a bit? Do your temps rise while it's idling? If so then your lsn is too lean.

Hell 1/16 turns are a big step sometimes!!!!

What the hell were you think pissant!!
