Hey guys,

Just got the used Tmaxx I was talking about. Brought it home tonight and got her fired up. She started right up! Loud as hell. Makes my Rc10 sound like a weedwacker! She only has about 2 quarts ran her since new. Upgraded pipe, arms, steering servo, skidplates, handle. Put the Atomik body on her. I ordered (or thought I did) the F150 body, but I got the Suburban. Oh well, its coming out OK.

What is the plug for this engine? It had the original so I threw a OS A3 in it. Seemed to run funny, real jumpy. This thing has reverse too. Controller is 3 channel.

What do you think?

Nice. So are you still going to sell it. I heard the jumpy felling is because the reverse. I also heard the cure is the foward only conversion.

That thing will like McCoy 59's for plugs.

DannyD is right, the "jumpiness" has to do with the tranny and it's nothing to worry too much about, just the way that thing is. If you do a FOC on it, the jumpiness will go away, along with reverse.

I like that lid on that a lot! Nice camo job!

Have fun with it!

Not sure if I will sell it. I think I will probably run her for a little while see if I like her. This is my 1st monster truck.

Thanks MW I wish I could paint like that. The body was prepainted from Atomik.

Umm..what is a FOC??

Ah... and where do I find this gem? TH? Rush RC? You got a link or part number? Easy to do? I could care less about reverse. I have legs!

If you go to www.traxxas.com and look at the manual, it has the part number in there. It's easy to do. I'd post the link but it's a .pdf file, so you need to go out and download it.

It's still fairly easy to find out there. My LHS had several on the peg board when I went in today to get a new flywheel for me Revo (which, they didn't have!)

Part number is TRX4994X (it's bad when I can quote that from memory and be right, right?) - Shouldn't run more than about $12.

There is also a mod that another member did on the forum that involved a savage's drive pin from a diff cup. It allowed the reverse to be kept, yet eliminated the jerkiness.

PM Rush rc here on the forum,I'm sure he could get the FOC for ya. By the way,Be carefull,The bulkheads on the maxx suck,Everytime i broke my bulks,I usually ended up replacing the shock tower, bulks, skids. Not to menchion the piece that holds the bulks together. Just be carefull,And if you can.Upgrade to Rpm all the way around,Save's time,Money and looks cool. Not to menchion that rpm products kick @ss. Good luck with the maxx,I ran MC59's in my maxx and it ran pretty good. I would suggest using MC95's or the stock plugs,Those are the plugs that worked well for me.

My LHS is out of them. I will try tuning the truck some more tonight. I'm gonna put a OS LC3 plug in it. LHS recomended this plug, they don't have Mccoy.

I had the rough start on mine as well. This was suggested to me by JSY0829 and it works great. Easy to do and you get to keep your reverse (if you want it) Slight down side is that you can totally f up a tranny if you aren't carefull. I did this mod on the forward gear and not the reverse to keep some type of security in it and its been running for over a month without a problem.

Not that a FOC is expensive but I wanted to keep reverse.
