So as the title says my truck will not move. I think it's a transmission but is there a definitive way to tell if it's the transmission? I just replaced the Rear diff bearing because they where toast. The cv's where flopping around like crazy. I was running with high speed runs threw a baseball diamond. The transition from the grass too the hard pack diamond was only lifting the truck 4-6 inches off the ground so not really jumping it. Anyway so far I am able to spin one tire at a time and the other spins as well. When I spin them so the drive shaft spins, It makes unpleasant crunching sounds and locks up all 4 wheels. The spur gear is fine and the clutch bell gear is also fine. Could it be a clutch bell problem? Or am I right for thinking transmission?

Also is there a 3 speed transmission that fits the t-maxx?

There is an article here that shows how a person modified it, but IMHO it isn't really worth it to convert to a 3 speed. Credit to Snook for the mod!

does he sell them? Also found out I may have a new problem. My truck is the 4909 I'm pretty sure. I have the 3.3 with reverse. I found the manual and it says 4909. So if I have a transmission problem what is my next move?

I am no expert and am new to nitro so I am going to let someone else chime in here, best of luck to you!

Open the trany case, look inside to see what got shelled & order replacement parts for it.
Easy as 1,2,3!

It could be one of your diffs. With truck on ground lift the rear and roll front across floor and feel for clicking or locking up in front diff. Then do the same for rear diff. Try to listen closely for where the clicking sound is coming from and that should tell you which differential has the broken ring or pinion gear. If its not either diff then check transmission.

I though I read that the 4909 is no longer being made and that there's an update? I have not looked it yet other than what you had said and I locks up both ways. Rolling on front and just on rear. A lot of clicking and crunching from gear box and lock up so I'm gonna guess its there I have too look. I just did all the bearing in the diffs and those gears had looked fine and I cleaned them then greased it all back up.

i did a rebuild on a 4909 trans recently, all the gears and clutches are the same as the latest model 4907 trans the only real difference is the output shaft is longer on the 4907.
you will most likely find that you have stripped/shattered the forward/reverse output gear, that seemed to be my most common failure,a foc fixes that

The forward only that much better? Also is the 4909 the old chassis? There's a longer one now right?

the new 4907 chassis is 30mm longer in the front
after i took out reverse the trans was much more reliable,i would only need to do a rebuild once a year
