I shredded the spur for 1st gear almost immediately. Found tons of hate for the factory 2-speed online. Looked for a better replacement and really couldn't find anything.

Decided to convert it to one speed, it's an 1/8 buggy chassis and those have always moved along just fine for me. I went with a Typhon center diff, the original GT2 mount worked fine with the Typhon diff. Only thing I had to fab was a new top plate. I just cut out the rear tire vents in the lid too, there was originally stickers of vents.....

Been through a few different gear ratios, currently ended up at 17/45. Stock KE25, runs good 👍

Appreciate that, maintenance is almost none for a parking lot basher now. I was getting steel spurs and clutchbells from eBay. Cheap but they work. I'll leave this one alone now and run it. On to the next one.

I have just came across a GT2 yesterday. I did found that people either over tightened the clutch screw or too loose. If it is too loose, use thread lock or use a longer screw and some washer for shimming. If you use thread lock, wait overnight for it to harden. Also, if the radio setup should be setup with proper end point adjustment, otherwise a strong servo will push the engine too hard and cause flexing and can damage the spur gears during max throttle or braking.
Hope that help.

Hey thanks for the reply. I'm really pleased with it's performance with one speed, low maintenance is key for me because I have so many darn cars. I also like how much more gearing options it now has. If I want to hear a shift, I fire up the Jato or TC3, neither have had any issues with it.

Good info tho, I'll keep it in mind should the need arise.
