A brushless conversion on these isn't really that expensive for these.

LOSB9594 Team Losi 1 / 36 Xcelorin 8750kv Brushless motor and ESC kit $50.
LOSB9594 27MHz AM Receiver 3-Wire Servo Combo: Micro (on sale from Losi) $37.99

That's everything you need to do the actual conversion. Anything else is gravy.
