Well a few weeks ago me and Metalhead Matt put together a deal, i got his T-Maxx and he got my merv. I was very satisfied with the deal, and he was too! It is a 2.5 Maxx with an O.S. .18 CV-R. Here are some pictures, and a few questions I have:

.. All i need to know is what are the best upgrades. I think in a few days or so i am going to order some RPM a-arms, a new body, traxxas aluminum bulkheads, and maybe some stronger servos. Anything else i should get for now that breaks a lot on these?

Been a long time since I've had a T-Maxx and even longer since I've did this quick write-up, WoodiE’s Top T-Maxx Hop-Ups!

Between the items on that list added with aluminum bulkheads you'll be off to a good start for sure.

Really depends on how your driving it. I had a tmaxx and savage 4.6, all I ever did was fix it and replace parts. So I recently spent the extra money and bought a mbx5t kit and never broke anything yet. I'd stay away from aluminum parts as they tend to bend, not break, then your rig will be all over the place. Better to just keep buying the plastic parts and replace them when needed. Aluminum looks nice but it's alot of added weight and after u bend something, rides like crap.

Congrats on your first T-Maxx! I'm sure you will love it, I have heard alot of good things about that motor aswell...Easy to tune and puts out some power!

Woodies list is for sure a great starting point!

THS also makes a good single chamber pipe and header to fit.

I would also recommend Traxxas Big Bore shock set with dual rate springs. You can get a nice set of springs from RCRaven for about $8.

Another nice investment that gives some added protection is a FullForce RC Rollbar. There are better rollbars out there but this one covers the basics (tranny and motor) is lightweight and also gives you something to grab onto besides the side or bumpers of the truck.

A set of aluminum chassis braces will help take body flex out of your truck and give you much more strength through out the chassis.

Since your going to get yourself some RPM a-arms go ahead and get there knuckles (carriers) all the way around. The true track rear a-arms are a very nice addition as well. They will make your truck drive much more stable on all 4 wheels or just the back two. Another nice purchase to go with these are a set of Lunsford titanium hingpins (ebay for about $20) and they have a lifetime warranty. Thanks to rak12 for the hingepin info!

Ofcourse a nice set of MIP C-Spline center shafts and CVD's are always a good option to shoot for!

extra spur gears help alot, spaire clutch ( u never know when you might spit out or brake a pad. extra plugs just incase some people go through a bunch of them. for exhaust i use the Traxxas Resonator 5487-T-DC-R. I use this on both of my t-maxx's.. And like you have heard already you will love that rig expetially when you work out all the bugs.. I would go waterproof high torque servos cause you never know... You might want part #5159 the reciever box it helps keap the reciever dry and safe.. a new top is always nice! What style body were you thinking on buying for your maxx?? I am looking to get gravedigger, a 72 chevy p-up and a few along them lines... even a new silverado top is on my list...

just reread and realized you arent running the 2.5 or the 3.3 so I dont know if that pip will still work as well to be honest...
