Hey cvec7, how were the instructions? Did everything go togther easy, good fit, and finish? Does the car look strong and durable?

Instructions were pretty bad, but if you take your time, and do it over the course of 2 days, and completely read over the manual first, you'll be fine. Some of the parts fit/finish wasn't too good, and it does seem very durable.

So far my ratings are: (1-5)
fit/finish: 3.5
instructions: 3.5
low-speed handling: 5
High speed handling???
Accel: 5
Durability???

I havent really gotten the sucker past 10mph since I'm still breaking it in, but I'm in love, lol. :D

Edit: So far durablilty is lookin good, slammed into a curb doin 35 or so, jus a few scratches on that mostly virgin chassis :( lol.

So far it seems good, but to be honest, I'm too busy having fun than to pay attention to that stuff, lol. On my list of hop-ups are some race tires, JP-1, and a new air filter. Nothing else I can think of that I really need, unless anyone has any suggestions....

Ya, just temporary...I have a rx pack, but I'm thinkin of buyin another just for conveinience.

Hey cvec7, how much diff fluid do the differentials hold? I was looking at tower, and found some mugen fluid in the weights I need, but I don't know how many bottles I should buy. Each bottle is 1.7oz or 50ml. Thanks.

one bottle of each should be fine. I use ofna diff oils they are cheap and work well. A diff doesn't hold much fluid.

The only ofna I could find was around 9.00 a bottle. The mugen around 6.00 a bottle.
I have a question though. I have been looking around different forums for diff and shock setups and have found many. The most widely used seems to be 5-7-3 for diffs and 35-40 for shocks. I have also seen 5-10-3 for diffs and 45-55 for shocks. I am going to be mostly bashing, so would 5-10-3 and 50-50 work for me? I only ask because I currently have some 10k for diffs and 50k for shocks. The buggy will be a Hyper 7 tq w/ a O.S. RG-X. Thanks

That would be fine if your bashing. If you were going to race you might want to bring the diff weights down to 5-7-1, but for bashing that would be fine! Shock oils will be fine too, I ran 50-40 for a while and it handled great.

the heavier shock oil will be better for bigger jumps but handle rougher terrain like ass on a platter.......and if you don't know how to handle that you're too young to even ask.......the higher the diff fluid the more like a "posi" the diff will be like.....the center being higher is definately more popular w/ people not needing technical control like on a track......the higher fluid in the rear will make your ass push more than usuall, again if you don't need tight corners (like on a track) you'll get more acceleration from your buggy from that......the front is really what makes a HUGE difference inhandling...go too high in front and your turning radius goes to hell.......get as many diff fluids as you can and experiment w/ different weights til you find one you like the most.......

Thanks vbgagnon.
Plaid fish, I don't understand your comment, "and if you don't know how to handle that, you're too young to even ask." I appreciate your help, but I don't see what that has to do with anything. I am 30 years old and am well aware of what shock oil weights mean, however, I am used to my monster gt and this calls for a different setup. I am about to buy a buggy (my first one) and I just have a few questions about setting it up to bash.

I was reffering to the "handle like ass on a platter" comment I made....meaning if you don't know how to handle an ass on a platter...you were too young to ask about it.....no insult meant.....was just typing wha tcame to mind...and it wanders off without me very frequently...

Not to go off topic, but what makes the Hyper 7 TQ Sport so cheap? Its the cheapest of any Hyper kits I can find. I am thinking about buying one (Nitrohouse has them for $289), because I have come close to replacing every single part on my 9.5 pro at least once now, and I could use a change in scenery. I figure it doesn't have all the carbon fiber options and what not, but does it still have the lay down radio tray?

Oh okay, then please disregard my comments. It seems that sometimes people on these forums throw comments around that are meaningless and are sometimes insulting. I'm sorry I missunderstood you.
kx250ryder, I think it's the cheapest because ofna only has two kits....the tq and pro. The rest are RTR's.
The tq does not have the lay down radio tray.
