I have A savage xl k5.9 that's fully broken in. And I replaced a few things nothing to do with the engine. I ran it on 20% and recently switched to 30%. So I put the needles all back to flush and put the high speed 2 and 1/4 turns out. Started it up and it ran great for a full tank. Maybe a little too good, shift from second to third was real short. I refueled and went to start it and it had no glow. Pulled the Plug and the coil was basically smashed down into the plug. Ever since then it frys every plug I put in it. It will idle fine but as soon as I give it any gas it dies and frys the plug. Extremely frustrating and sick of buying plugs. Someone please help me.

Richen the high speed needle one full turn. Run the truck. Wait until it warms up then slowly lean the needle in very small increments until it runs good again....your running it too lean.

when i switch from 20% to 30% i add an head shim/gasket and i run a med to med cold plug and i have no problems a pro racer told me that a long time ago and its works great for me

sounds like pre detonation from not shiming for 30% , this will allso make pit mark's ontop of your piston lookin like some one taped all over the top of the piston with a needle , and the element in your glow plug break's or look like some one push it in with a tooth pick , hope this helps

The 5.9, like most big blocks, is made to run on 30% nitro. Make sure you have a medium or colder plug and richen the high speed needle.

Ok, well 30% isn't going to cause your plug problem. You may wanna check the engine for air leaks if richening the hsn doesn't help.

air leak can hurt your glow plug if the temp go's over 330

An air leak can cause a lean condition at any temperature. 330° is too hot, but your engine is probably lean the moment you fire it up.
Did you try richening the hsn yet? Did you check for air leaks?
