OK so i have a 3.3 on a 2.5 frame everything on it is a 2.5 other than the motor. the motor only has about 8 or 9 tanks ran through it. ok well i think the tunning is off on it and a brout it to a hobbie shop and they told me they didn't know what was causing it lol. so i put it to factory default settings and it idles to high and will start going bout 5 mph bye itself and other than that it runs fine and shifts to 2nd. so i turned down the idle and it wont do a wheelie and wont shift into second and when i let off the throttle it sounds fine then it gets really high please help me thnx

well reset to factory defaults HSN 4 turns out from closed and LSN flush with the ledge in the slide. SET THE IDLE BACK TO WHAT IT WAS. i never had to adjust idle i always did the idle through HSN and LSN and had no problems only use idle screw if it does a wheely when you start it. you can then play with the LSN to get an idle. do the pinch test and aim for it to die at the 3-4 second mark. once it idles without taking off you can richen the HSN and do high speed runs untill it starts to bog back the HSN off 1/8th turn. the LSN will need some adjusting again to get a nice idle. i will check back if you have any more problems.

ok so i looked a bit more into things and in the manual pages 20-22 have great tips on tuning. i fround the manual online because I'm not motivated enough to find mine.

ok i reset the idle and have been messing with it and then i noticed the idle screw coming out i think it might be striped but will that make me lose power?

It'll make it die. All the idle screw does is hold the barrel from closing all the way. It's pretty unlikely that it is stripped, as it is never tightened. Should have a spring on it to hold it where you set it. You should have a 1-1.5mm gap when the barrel is resting on it.

if those points dont help you it is best to refer to the manual and go through the whole section on tuning but if that screw keeps coming out then that meens it is turned out to far (not doing any idle controlling) or something isnt right with the carb. i found that the factory setting for idle is pretty half decent and only needed to be turned in 1/8 th turn if i remember correctly. I've just had two nice days to work on my truck and I'm near niagara falls, ontario. i also had this truck running nice at around the 0 degree mark even though it isnt recomended.

gotta love the great white north (some southerners still think that north or the boarder we all live in igloes and hunt seals for a living)

your needles both sound too lean. bring the LSN (small one on the end of the carb by where the linkage attaches) out 1/8th of a turn, and your HSN (big one on top) out 1/4 of a turn, and go from there

I immediately thought air leaks from the start.

This was happening to my t-maxx and i decided to replace everything that is on the route of the fuel. ie: fuel tank, fuel lines, carb o-rings, exhaust.

That got rid of the leak and it runs like a dream now!
